Nairaland computer gurus, I'm in need of your help. My laptop does not boot on time unlike before. It comes on, the caps-lock light blinks, the fan (or is it processor) works but that's where it ends. I've tried removing the battery & the AC adapter, then I press the power button for about 30seconds before replacing ΐτ̅. Sometimes, ΐτ̅ comes up & sometimes ΐτ̅'s still the same. Then again, some of the keys are not working. I've tried cleaning underneath but no improvements. Can someone please suggest or proffer a solution because the thought of engineering fees scares me. Thanks in anticipation..

well its always advisable to hv a back up..an external hdd.

slow boot process could simply b as a result of toouch apps with 'start at boot' u see them on d task manager.

also low memory could b responsible.

and of cos d ict boko haram called virus.

keep ur windows Environment up to date and don't turn ur lappy to ashawo! Hehehe.. accepting all manners of .... like flash, memory cards, and their family.

get an antivirus... if u adl mi for d best then I'll tell u to get used to 1. I use windows defender that came with mi lappy plus an anti malware called malwarebyte antimalware

Firstly you need keyboard blown...computer hardward engineers have a gadgets called blower....Lets them blow the dust from the keyboard first. The keyboard malfunctioning will then stop.
Then format your laptop and install fresh windows after backing up your datas..
Ensure you install a very good antivirus...You can get a free one at filehippo.com (Microsoft Security Essential is recommended)
Update your antivirus atleast once in a month.
Then install USB Disk Security (This will block and delete all sort of virus,spyware or malware coming from external devices connected to your computer)
