Hello fellow Nigerians. Am a young white woman , married to a Nigerian and we have 2 kids. We are planning to move to Nigeria in near future. Do you have any ideas what business area should I look into? I have been preparing to open a cyber cafe with a gaming station. I also have graduated from my business studies. Hoping to get some good ideas and support to fasten our move to Nigeria.. I'm happy you like it down here The location u're planning on settling in wuld determine the kinda biz u can delve into in terms of acceptance and profitability. I don't like d internet cafe and game thingy.They are not as profitable as dey used to be cos most pple have them in the comfort of their homes now.Very few pple go out to use dem nowadays. Hello again! Thanks a lot for ur responses. I will still go ahead with the cyber cafe and gaming room, coz i have already purchased the items needed and I have some ideas how to make it profitable. I am now looking for a great location in Imo state. The cyber cafe would be my first business just to start out from somewhere. I am moving from Sweden. Hope you achieve your dreams in this country soon. However, I must warn you doing business in Nigeria is tough. You got to be very determine to put in extra effort with smart moves to succeed. Gaming business can be profitable too. It's all about providing something gamers always want at affordable price. Good a thing you're opening the cafe in Imo state and not Lagos. Cafe business in Lagos has gone downhill with the advent of Swift, Spectranet and co. Cool cafe, as big as they were, packed up cos of this same issue. Except if your overheads would be compensated with the revenue from your other business. I wish you well. 3 Likes |

no one will want the cyber cafe service/too many .. i'll advise do not venture into business in Nigeria yet it will not work because you do not have the Gidi experience critical for business in naija, do you have any qualifications? you will do very well in an office otherwise if you can read and write you can get some admin jobs. If none of the above applies to you just sit at home and pound yam because there is no benefit in nigeria 4 Likes |

First of all..I want to say a big welcome to u as I discovered that ure just joining nairaland.. Back to ur question...internet business in Nigeria isn't that profitable anymore except during waec,Jamb or Neco registration..but for the gaming aspect of it,well its ok if you make the place very cool..but remember that we have epileptic power supply so input fuel money in your budget. In my opinion,I would suggest that you go into either the educational sector(opening of a school) or event management...we love foreigners down here..ure welcome in advance 7 Likes |
