Hi all; pls I'm in dire need; I need suggestions,
My car stereo, switches on but emits no sound; I noticed this immediately after I took d car 2 a car wash; of which I only asked dem to wash outside of d vehicle, n I was there observing n I saw them only washing outside.
Was really surprised as to how d vehicle's radio does not emit any sound;afterwards

D vehicle is a 2003 T.corolla sports model; pls I need urgent help.

I also encounter this issue sometimes. All I do is annoying turn the stereo off. After some hours or the following day I turn it on, it begins to produce sound.
It's crazy tho' having a mute stereo while driving

my broda U got it ryt; very annoying; this thing happened yesterday evening; and till now; it is still misbehaving; I just don't get;

Remove car battery for say 1 hour. Turn ignition to ON, don't crank engine. Let all stored electrical power drain off. Re-install battery and check. Most times, toyota's minor electrical system issues can be resolved this way.

If you can't get the sound, check the fuses and wiring harnesses for continuity.

For a 2003 corolla there is no particular module which controls the radio. If not would have suggested you scan the radio. But if your radio still works without producing any sound. Could be water was able to find its way through your door thereby reaching out to the speakers. Just try check the speakers who never can tell

tnx bro; I'll try dat; when u mean d fusesj is it the, the fuse box; in d hood of the car? Cus I checked there; n couldn't really make anything out of it; d thinngs were just so many; I'll try d 1st one, u suggested now, n give feedback,

bro; if it found its way to d speaker; don't u think only d speaker, d water reached will be affected? Don't u think? Will it affect d whole speakers? (D 6speakers) in d vehicle. Or what do u think?

Did you carry any item in your boot especially large item?


The fault is well documented fault for Corolla '08 MY your rear speakers are on the platform behind the rear headrests, so open your boot and check the speaker connections there, wiggle them gently while the radio is on and tap on the speakers terminals. It should solve your problem.

I checked d speakers @ d boot; n after checking n rechecking; I saw 1 was torn (unnoticeably) so I tapped dat 1 inside; n d whole speakers picked up; n strted playing; I was so happy n excited...
I was just thinking how wat would have become of me n those mechanics; when they strt playing trial n error with my new ride; nn maybe end up; causing harm... Tnx so much people I immensely appreciate...
