Please i want to know if there is any limit in time for which one can preserve meat from ram slaughtered for sallah. I meant for those who slaughtered the ram and those who received it as sadaqah.

Last three years I preserved mine for more than five month and it didn't change in taste.

I hear people saying that I can last for a year if left in it oil.
But am yet to see someone that courageous to watch his sallah meat for a whole year

The meat can be kept as long as you like. Furthermore, what is obligatory upon anyone that has the capability to slaughter be it a ram, he or she goat, sheep, cow(male/female) camel(male/female) is to make Sadakat from it, once the sadakat has been given out from the meat, the rest if for you to do as you like.

Evidence: Allah said in suaratu-l-hajji vs 36 (....... and when they are [lifeless] on their sides, then eat from them and feed the needy and the beggar. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may be grateful.)

Althoug Ulamaa differs on how to share the meat but what is important (wallahu ahalam) is that it a must to give sadakat out of it base on the aayat

As regard slaughtering both male and female, the evidence is the saying of the prophet salallahu alaihi wa salam: for a male child slaughter 2 and for female child 1, and their is no problem male or female (animals).
Ulamaa use this as evidence that both animals can be slaughtered for Eid li adha (Al-Imam an-nawawi in his book "Al majmooh"
