Hi guys. I am trying to apply for a fresh passport for my dad. On the immigration portal page, his NIN is coming out as invalid and he has been using this NIN since 2013 and same is linked to his lines and bank accounts. What can I do about it please

I have the exact problem with my NIN until I validated it. So his NIN has to be validated.

I was at their Kaduna office today 17 April to capture.

I registered online too, paid 35k for 5 years.
When I got the office, the officials said I will need to pay 15k as administrative fees. I told them I didn't see that on their website. The man informed me that it is not all information they put on their website. I insisted I wont pay because I didn't prepare for that.

They also asked for my expired passport, which I left at home because I made copy of my biodata page. so I will be there again tomorrow.

Before I left the office, they reduced the money to 7k and asked me they wont capture me until I bring the expired passport and the 7k. They said the money is for fueling and servicing of their generator

This is my dilemma today. So pathetic.

I thought the new minister has resolved everything?

Yes, he tried to put an end to those illegal fees, but trust my Immigration people, they still devised another means of getting their cut.
I stood my ground, and insisted I wont pay a dime, since it was never mentioned on their site that I should pay. I started shouting and created a scene there.

After all my drama, they decided to capture and I didnt pay anything. They asked me to check in the next 3 months for the passport.

That's their problem as I am not in haste.

The Miinister has gone silent since he was linked to the Beta Edu scandal.So.many initiatives that was supposed to commence has been halted since: things like delivery of passport,no capturing for renewals etc

This is a grassroot problem. The minister may not know about it unless we speak out.
Moreover, the minister was indicted in the Beta Edu's scandal. He has been on a very low key, don't know if he on suspension.

Ahhh!! That's bull shit. Normally, no doubt your passport is ready probably the officers are too lazy to check weller . Me wey do capturing on March 28th now I'm starting to doubt my collection by next month.

I collected the passport yesterday, my sister linked me with one of her coursemates who was working ilwith Immigration but his office is in Abeokuta so i sent my capturing slip to him and he called me back that it is actually ready and i should go back and collect it, i went there yesterday and o didn't even use up to 20minutes before collecting it, i was now wondering why i was told to check back after 2weeks when i went there last week. I guess they were too lazy to check properly

To correct your date of birth in your NIN or Passport?
Date of birth correction in your passport is exclusive to NIS headquarters at Sauka in Abuja.
