The widely-publicized ceasefire between the Nigerian
government and the Boko Haram sect is turning out
to be a ruse, as leader of the violent group,
Abubakar Shekau has released a new video
rubbishing the claim.
A military source in Maiduguri confirmed to
SaharaReporters that Shekau yesterday dismissed
the purported ceasefire with the Nigerian
government as announced by Nigeria’s Defence
Chief, Alex Badeh.
Badeh’s hometown of Vintim in Adamawa State was
captured same day the sect released the footage not
yet in public domain.
Shekau also said the 219 Chibok secondary
schoolgirls seized on April 14 have been married to
his followers.
His disclosure came on the 200th day the girls were
kidnapped.
Shekau further said some of the teenagers who
earlier refused to convert, have finally accepted
Islam.
DailyPost recalls that two individuals with some
access to the sect, Ahmed Sakilda and Shehu Sani
had insisted that the ceasefire claim announced by
the Nigerian government was questionable.
According to them, it is Boko Haram, not the
Nigerian military that would make such
announcement in the event of one.
Shekau’s comments is a huge set back for President
Goodluck Jonathan administration, which had hoped
