Nairaland. Punchng. Premiumtimes, Lynda Ikeji, Bella 9ja etc. These names stir up feelings, opinions, and experiences in just about all of us. Some love Punchng or Nairaland more than other local social platforms, while others merely have a passing fancy in these services. Regardless of the level of involvement, there is no denying the immense popularity of these growing brands and how positively the have contributed to our daily lives.

As these services rise in popularity, top brands have begun to use them to reach out to existing and potential customers. Some companies uses Punchng but not Nairaland. Some use Premiumtimes but not Bella 9ia. Some combines two or more of these local social paltform's, while others use neither of them.

Sometime late last year i wrote an article here tittled "Nairaland IN VIEW", the focus of that article was to help Nairaland review her mode of operations, step up her game and bring back the glorious days of Nairaland when we had good front page, brilliant moderators. I was shocked to see my post deleted barely five minutes, it came to me as a surprise why my post was deleted.

Looking at my best paddy Niaraland, i am reminded of a typical Nigerian Nigerian brand, one that thinks of herself as the best thing to ever happen to Nigeria and sees no need to improve on her services to better the end users. I am sad about how Nairaland is declining everyday, the mod are so lay back in doing what is expected of them all. The front page is the most boring part of Nairaland lately, am aware of Seun placing vacancy for a super mod and this i was glad to see but, truth be told; does Seun really wants a change to his brand? can he admit the fact that Niaraland is declining?

Nairaland is one of the oldest social media platform in Nigeria and yet, Seun cannot boast of a single top stories emanating from hie own stable. Yes, Nairaland relies on Premium times, Sahara Reporters, Lynda Ikeji and most times armature bloggers "all are local medium" to generate content. Lets say its good to share content with others, after all no one has monopoly of the social media, yet it takes Nairaland a whole day if not more to bring the copy and paste news to us here.

Am aware that 90% of Nairaland's content comes from the members, the rest comes from other platforms and this is not good for Nairaland. Its important for Seun to start spending real money to generate her in house contents, pay journalist to help you investigate lead stories, that way you have your own side of the story. Premiutimes, Sahara Reporters, Punchng, Lynda Ikeji are heading sway cause they are spending a whole lot to generate in house content and thats why companies are running to these platforms to place ad.

My humble opinion to Seun is to keep this post open and not delete it, employ savvy youth as moderators, try to update trending stories on real time happenings, bring good materials posted by members to the front page. I see no reason why Davido drinking garri pics makes it to front page and educated post from someone like cramjones and the likes remains on the politics segment.

Nairaland all the way........... Shout out to all the APC's and the PDP's.....

You points are correct100%
Seun is not exploring the full potential of NL
But first he must achieve relative neutrality on NL
He has the right to belong to a political party or believe in its idealogy

well said, the issue is simple; Seun to my best of knowledge is neutral in his dealings as far as Nl is concerned. The fact is that his platform has been hijacked by politicians, he needs to find a way round this growing trend. Dont be surprised if PDP or APC bid for NL
