php can work offline on a local server..... there's no need to convert it to an executable format... All companies that have database already have a server... If you want desktop apps go for languages that are specially meant for it...

Now, that is very smart . . . and practical. You don't want your client calling you every minute they want to change the name of the "employee of the week"

Every proficient php developer knows that php can work offline via a local server but do you tell your client that by giving them WAMP Server to install then copy whatsoever to www directory and then import mysql database...Which client will be willing to go tru all that when he or she has little or no idea in software development/technology.

If you use C# too then the thread is not meant for you. The thread is meant for those who are masters in php/mysql i.e professional web developers and not those that claim to know so many programming languages but masters of none.
