Between 2015 And Buhari: Nigerian media Must Correct Their Mistakes by Naijacitizen(m): 4:20pm On Nov 15, 2014
The 2015, among other times, remains the most correct time for Nigerian media industry to retract, recant and revert otherwise correct their long serving gross mistakes. And unseal Gen.

Buhari’s ill-fated victimization, torture and embarrassments cursed on his personality
under the shades of religionism, regionism, ethnicism above all fanatism being labeled and credited to him (Gen. Buhari) by way of media hype and reportage.

No politician, I understand, has been a victim of such bigotry as General Muhammadu Buhari. Buhari, in my opinion is the most misconstrued Politician ever had in Nigeria, and throughout the octal general elections that the country had since its independence 1960.

In effect, Buhari’s campaign speeches, interviews, expositions and explanations; his original words are acrimoniously misquoted, misinterpreted, mistranslated and sometimes twisted by the Nigerian media (mostly the print). This has considerably attributed to Gen. BUHARI’s political travails, troubles and trial by fire and of strengths. Regrettably, the media (both broadcasts & prints) and those with its exposure and collaboration, agents, stooge, and meek, dependent-minded and subconscious individuals have been being cursing, blackmailing and diabolically mud-throwing Buhari to suffer from their ill-will schemes of dishonesty and cruelty.

Needless to dwell on this belittle length, they (Buhari’s infidel enemies of Naija’s progress) oftentimes, use a tool of misconception of facts and reality of all sorts, to, relentlessly discourage and dissolidify our fellow countrymen and women, confusing some of our dear Christians and rotted Muslim.

Making us unfocused and become easy prey to inveterate enemy of our resources. Making us hateful, and heartless to our servant, the indefatigable moral crusader, Gen. M.B. In fact, some of the misconstructions of realities about Gen. Buhari accrued and greased at ease by the media are for instance, some unguarded utterances of vituperations, corrosive language and unasserted statements associated with the corruption fighter, Muhammadu Buhari, are thus:

"Muslim should vote for Muslim”, as erroneously reported by This Day newspaper;

The doctrine of “Akasa, atsare, araka, ajira”. The media added in an kama abuge;

The case of $2.8 billion (then), was unjustifiably reported to have gone missing in Midland Bank under Buhari’s watch as Petroleum Minister in 1977.

A rumor that was carried in a bus; Cy“Gen. Buhari to Islamize Nigeria”

This appeared in many a banner headlines;

“In banci zabe a 2015 ba: Za’ayi kare jinni biri jini”

Thank God, that, Many Christians came out in defense of the respected General and denied such reports.

One have to argue, perhaps too fiercely, each time one hears such a fairy tales. One who has to question why he (Buhari) did says it?
When did he say what? And, where? I think journalists must subjugate personal and political convictions to the professional commitment to balance.

It would have made a lot of difference for you to balance your write up by stating the erroneous reportage side by side with the correct/right quote, so that we understand and appreciate more how he is being misquoted and misconstrued...otherwise stating one part without the other changes nothing...
