1) the stop leak has probably helped clog an already weak radiator, adding to the overheating problems = redo of the radiator and fan your first priority. 2) so - you know it's burning oil. if the engine has been running too hot, you've probably prematurely aged the valve stem seals: oil runs down the valves into the cylinders: normally on very high or old engines that shows-up as smoke when you start the engine in the morning that then clears-up as you drive.......and when seals are quite bad, you don't see the car laying a smoke-screen, but at higher speeds oil is being sucked past the seals and burned completely without noticeable smoke.

1) take care of radiator 2) go to a one-grade heavier oil 3) after you've recovered form the cost of the radiator work, have the valve seals replaced. - or just tell you bud that it needs to be done in the future.

Thanks boss.
The radiator set is new. I may consider the heavier oil and have the valve seals replaced.
Another observation this morning. I noticed oil leaks where I usually Park the car...

A rattle at the top(head) is a minor fix, from the bottom (crank shaft/con-rod) just get a new engine. Most of these problems are fixable, but the ability to find original parts and the expertise to install these parts is a little scarce in nigeria, that's why I always go for the buy a new engine line.

SERIOUSLY IS THIS GUY FOR REAL?

On second thought, you should sell your car and ride a bus or something. You are definitely not smart enough to own a car.

A better advice would be to buy a new car!

OK let's critically examine this case. Topic of thread is: MY car is consuming engine oil and there is no smoke from the exhaust.

Meaning engine is burning oil or leaking oil. Now if engine is leaking oil I woud say replace seals, fix leaks with suitable materials. But the Op goes on to add

I'm assuming flogs mean spark plugs, and from this statement you know that for sure engine is really burning oil. It could be his rings, it could be a cracked cylinder head, valve stem seals or a bad head gasket. I doubt the valve stem seals would cause the spark plugs to be soaked in oil, and the engine in quote was

So let's sum it up, he bought a new engine, that soaks plugs, leaks engine oil from the engine. What would you advice bare in mind cost of that engine is about (40-45k)?

Oga easy.. I'm just using the car for school runs from 8 to maybe 4, after then I drive Pontiac for my town runs, so being smart or not is irrelevant here.
The steering system is leaking like many (old) Honda cars so I thought it's the one that is leaking before.

Thanks for reasoning with me..
The engine was bought for 42K.
I'll attach screenshot of the new place I parked the car yesterday.
Edit : The SS. You can notice two leaks. The right one is surely the steering system but the other one is the engine leak I guess.. What the way out bro?

Re: Help! My Car Is Consuming Engine Oil And There's No Smoke From The Exhaust by GAZZUZZ(m): 7:44am On Nov 18, 2014
Those leaks are not enough to cause a significant drop in oil level.

If i were you, i would start budgeting for a new car. In the long run you would lose more economically. Would give you a breakdown when i got the time . But in the mean time use thicker oil like 10W 40 or 15W 40, you can even go as high as 20W but idle for a while in the mornings.

Your car is worth about 300k (assuming) you want to spend 80k on it( I assume the engine is 50k+labour+accessories + other expenses= 80-90k)

So you spend 80k(and my go up to 100K if you decide to fix the steering) on a 300k car that's 1/3 of the value of the car .

But if you sell the car and add the 100k(repair cost) + find like 50k more you can get a better looking car at 450k.
450k wouldn't get you the best car but this time shine your eyes. do enough research before you make a move.

You can't be sure of the new engine because most cars of that model in the junk yard are over 200k miles. The chances of getting a good engine from the junk yard is low. My personal opinion would be keep your eye on the oil as you save for a newer car, let someone else deal with the fixing burden. Since you car is not smoking you would find a buyer.
