Nigerian Emerges First Black Councillor In Poland by IGBOSON1: 11:27pm On Nov 22, 2014
A NIGERIAN, Justin Nnorom, has emerged as councillor in a district in Poland, the first to achieve such a feat in the history of the eastern European country.

Justin was elected councilor of Dabrowka -gmina Dopiewo, a district in the city of Poznan.

A former Nigerian international footballer, Justin who had a long spell with the famous BCC lions FC of Gboko with whom he won the Mandela Cup, later had a short stint with Polish side Lech Poznan qualifying them for Europa Cup for the first time. His career was unfortunately cut short by a knee injury. Several operations carried out in Germany to repair the damaged knee, failed thus making him to quit prematurely from soccer game.

The ex-under 17 player who later furthered his education in Poland where he bagged a B.A English Philology, B.A in Didactics of English Language between 2005 andd 2007 from the famous College of Foreign Languages, Poznan.

He is a FIFA agent having been granted licence in 2010 by the world football body to run an agency known as JJNsport Sport Management and Consulting Agency. He was wooed to participate in politics following his brilliant feat working as an interpreter and as a lecturer.

Reacting to his election, Justin said "I am overwhelmed with my election as councillor of Dabrowka-gmina Dopiewa community. I want to thank my family, friends, wonderful neighbours, inhabitants of my community, acquaintances and associates for their show of trust, support, kindness and words of encouragement that saw me emerge. I pray God give me the strength and wisdom to carry out my responsibility without fear or favor. Thank you all and God bless".

Justin is married to a Pole and the marriage is blessed with two children, a boy and girl.

Can this man aspire to any political post in western or northern nigeria? No. We need to tell ourselves some truth in this country. What type of country are we when its easier for a citizen to aspire and win based on personal merits in europe or america than his own " country "

^^^You know i was thinking exactly the same thing.....just didn't want to add it in the original post! lipsrsealed

But i think (to a lesser extent) the same holds true for every region....including the South East! Would a northerner or s.westerner feel confident enough to stand for election in the South East!? I say 'to a lesser extent' because Igbos have voted for a Fulani to be Mayor in the past!

Is he related to Ikoyi landlord or a son in-law? I don't think he's even qualified because the criteria here is that you must serve as thug, body guard or snatch ballot box for like three elections before you be considered

Check the interview of ekiti law maker that was impeached and you understand

BBC-Poland swears in Nigerian Godson as first
black MP(14 December 2010)
http://m.bbc.com/news/world-europe-11990869

Mr Godson had served as a councillor in the city of Lodz before taking up a parliamentary seat,
vacated by a party colleague after local elections.

The Justin Nnorom guy is the first only in the district Dabrowka -gmina Dopiewo, a district in the city of Poznan. Not first in Poland... Godson beat him to that long ago.

Why do we celebrate inferiority as achievement in this country? A Nigerian won as councillor we are jubilating meanwhile a KENYAN is the President of the United States of America and the defacto strongest man in the world.

Councillor in Poland not even in its more more recognizable and influential neighbour Germany.
We are the biggest black nation.on Earth let's exploit our human and natural endowment to be the light of the world.

Congrats to the young man.

The thread was created to massage the ego of a few Igbos not for Nigerians...They created a thread just a few days ago celebrating Igbo billionaires when they won't even see a penny of their so called brothers money. They are also the ones screaming about igbos buying up Lagos when they can't boost of half plot of land even in their own region. The wealthy Igbos are busy living large and comfortable life in luxury wherever they are while destitutes come to Nairaland and other social networks to brag for them. And when sensible Igbos come to point out their mistake and let them know that shouldn't be a cause for celebration they will bounce on him and call him "Hater"( I have seen this scenario played out on Nairaland over and over again). Now we are just waiting for a Yoruba to comment(Sensible or not) so they will all have a reason to bounce at each other. Any northerner celebrating Dagote, Atiku or any other arewa wealth is a fool. If they won't invest in the region then they should fvck off with their money! I am glad the wealthy northerners know where to invest their money. The ones who only care about their oil wells and their pockets are hardly heard of anyway.

Were you born this stupid or it was a trait you picked up as you grow? Did you read my thread and have the basic understanding. and comptehension of English at all.

If your essense of creating it is to celebrate your igbo brother then reflect that on your title and spare us the indignity of celebrating such thing as a national pride. I did felicitate with him if you had patient to allow me finish my post before your useless rant. Who am I is more than the councillor of an unknown province in poland and more than you can be in 3live times.

All I meant in my post is that with our population as Nigerians we should be the leader of the entire black race and not limit ourselves to celebrating this kind of news as the peak .

He is not the first black as someone pointed out to you.

Nigeria should lead other black african nations that is my crux and I'm not running him down since this is a big thing to you.

The funny thing is that all these people clinging high positions in other countries will gladly choose that country over Nigeria(or even their region if Nigeria ceases to exist) anytime, any day! should they have a choice. Godson the first black MP of Poland left Nigeria 20years ago, he is now a citizen of Poland and also speak the Polish language. Since he left he has only visited Nigeria three times. He is there solely to represent the interests of Poland not of Nigerians so i don't see any cause of celebration. Most Nigerians go there to play football and in a matter of years they have blended with the country culture and forgotten about their origin. I haven't read about this Justin but i am sure he will have similar story with Godson. Congratulations to both any way....

I later realise the purpose of his thread when he quoted me. I tot it was not worth the party based on the fact as Nigerians we should be the driving force of the black world I didn't know his happiness was simply because the guy bears an igbo name.

Well that's is his cup of tea, pakis, indians, ghanians, even smaller African nations have MPs in the commons in UK yet he is jubilating over a councillor in poland . Different strokes any way.

When last did you see a yoruba man open a thread celebrating otedola, alakija, folawiyo, abiola, adenuga, adeojo, dehinde fernandez, akingbola, ladoja, davidos father etc.

Guess their mentality and humanity is built on material and monetary possesion.

^^^'Spare you the indignity of celebrating such thing as national pride'......'why do we celebrate such inferiority as achievement in this country'; these are you exact words! You only went back to edit your initial post when you read it and realized it makes you come across as a bitter fool, and so you went and added the 'congratulations' only as an afterthought! Thankfully, i've captured your unedited initial post for posterity!

If you feel an African going to an eastern european country, and impressing the locals enough for them to vote him in as a councillor......if you feel this isn't something worthy of commendation, then i ask yet again: tell us your own achievements in life that gives you the temerity to look down on this hardworking man! You inferred from your initial post that the guy is cheap and inferior since he can only manage to win a councillor position in a nondescript town in Poland; and that it's only when an African is voted in to be a President or Prime Minister of a European or North American country that we should hold him/her up as a good role model and offer congratulations!

If an Igbo had been caught doing or selling drugs abroad, and the news posted here, there would be the usual generalizations, innuendo and abuse to follow! Now the reverse is the case, instead of you to just move on if you aren't happy for the guy, you just had to post something condescending and rude about his achievements!

I'm proud of him as an Igbo brother.....why do you have a problem with that!?

And just why the fuc/k should Nigerians lead other African countries......tell me why? What have we done as a people to earn that right? Do we have two heads, or are we so genetically superior to other Africans that you feel we should lead them? You haven't put your house in order, yet you want to lead others!

^^^Fool......i repeat; i'm happy for the guy first and foremost because he's an Igbo brother! Why does this rile you up so!?

So because you as a Yoruba don't post articles on any Yoruba achieving anything in politics or business both at home or abroad......because you don't do this you mean i should copy you? Since when did you become the template on how and what i choose to post!?

If you're so pissed off because an Igbo man is cheering his brother on, then it says more about your intolerance than anything else really!
