Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has emerged the
winner of the All Progressives Congress
governorship primary in Lagos State.
He will therefore fly the flag of the party in the
February 2015 governorship poll in the state.
Ambode is believed to be the candidate of the
former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola
Tinubu.
Our correspondent reports that in the primary
conducted at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos,
Ambode, the former Accountant-General of
the state, beat 11 other aspirants, which
included the incumbent Commissioner for
Works, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; former
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Leke Pitan; and
former Attorney General and Commissioner
for Justice, Olasupo Shasore, and other
formidable opposition.
The other 11 aspirants, who had maintained
a strong opposition to the alleged
‘imposition’ of Ambode by Tinubu, were said
to have left the venue of the primary long
before voting was concluded.

Apparently only TINUBU knows who qualifies to be a delegate, all the other candidates do not live in Nigeria, they only arrived in the country on the eve of the election!
Any talk of imposition is total rubbish. It was a transparent democratic contest where the most popular candidate won.

Gaskiya! This is no news. Not unprecedented. Ambode, the anointed candidate of Jagaban. I hope the choice of 'hand-picking' him would give Lasgidi good governance, better than Baba Fash. I don't see PDP unseating these guys from APC. They are principalities and power!

Truly Ambode might have the backing of a God father but was it the godfather that force him over the remaining contenders NO but the votes of the delegates. Today's results shows that in politics don't focus on governance alone but involved in the grassroot politics. truly there was no imposition, what happened was that the delegates were loyal to Tinubu and his endorsed candidate. Though the APC nneed to manage the situation properly. A+ all the way

The undeniable truth is that Ambode is a competent leader, an achiever and vision-driven person. I have met with him, listened to him, and you just can't take away the fact that he'd make a good Governor....but then, his affiliation with Tinubu makes it a difficult one for people to accept his person. Lagosians don't want a one-man affair anymore.

Votes are still being counted live on TVC at the moment though Amobode leads closest rival, Dr. Hamzat (1201votes) with over 1900 votes margin.
