As at yesterday dangote cement held a meeting with his distributors and agents to inform them of an increase in the price of his cement.
His cement now goes for 1745Naira factory price, meaning before it gets to the consumer it will be either 1900-2000 Naira.
What led to the sharp increase was not given but few months ago he slashed the price, was it for political reasons?
What happens next? Will Unicem and co join him?

Pls go to the shops in your area this morning and ask how much is a bag of cement.
Yesterday l wanted to pay an agent that l had previously placed an order with, only for the man to tell me its no longer possible that he is just coming from a meeting and that the price has changed.
I called another agent and he also confirmed it, l decided to go to the shops but p was told that it is 1950 some others 2000.
Quickly l left my area to an interior part thinking l will get it at the old price there but l was stunned same price in fact some were locking up there shops in others words hoarding it to sell for the new price.
So if maybe in your area they are still selling for 1400-1500 rush it cos the news will soon spread.
Dangote decided not to go to the media this time with his price increase.
