I Was Confused But Today I Decided I Would Vote For Gmb For These Reasons by Nobody: 1:54pm On Dec 22, 2014
"if voted into power within the next four years, the issue of power will become a thing of the past. Four years is enough for anyone in power to make significant improvement and if I can’t improve on power within this period it then means I cannot do anything even if I am there for another four years”. -GEJ

For sometime now, I had been confused on whom to vote for come February 2015, and I had always advocated that a youth be voted in from another party as we have numerous other parties aside PDP & APC.

However, after careful considerations, I realised that hoping for another party other than APC or PDP to win the presidential election is a wasted hope for many reasons & I would mention four reasons;

1, You all can agree with me that tons of
money is needed also to clinch the seat of the presidency and no other party has that privilege than PDP & APC, while the PDP has access to unlimited funds, the APC is not left behind either as they have the backing of former and present government officials that has corruptly enriched themselves.

2, It takes a political party with nationwide spread to win a presidential election

3, It takes popularity on the side of the aspirants too and no other contender is more popular than GEJ nor GMB

4, Aside voting, it takes a party with the machinery to protect its vote to win a presidential election, both PDP and APC has its fair share of former and present top officials.

Let me briefly state the reasons why PDP should go

1, PDP has been in power since 1999 and there is no outstanding achievement so far, please state the outstanding achievement if you know any

2, Past and successive PDP goverment has protected its corrupt members and have even gone ahead to pardon the ones convicted by the court

3, No successive PDP government has ever probed its precedessor which would have kept corruption at bay

4, Over $20B has been spent by PDP government on the power sector, yet the sector is as stagnant as ever

5, GEJ has been marred with corruption, episodes of missing billions of dollars, head of ministry siphoning billions, unpaiud pensions and misappropriation.

The list of PDP's inefficiency and unpatriotic acts is endless but I have to stop here and briefly state four reasons why GMB deserves a chance

1, Just as GMB utterances when he lost in the last election made the Islamic extremists "Boko Haram" aggressive, you all can agree with me that GMB voice is so familiar with the extremists that they may stop the incessant killings when GMB assumes office and for this reason alone, I would vote for him even though we are held to ransom.

2, GMB has proven to be fearless and won't mind probing past government leaders and jailing them if they are guilty thereby putting end to corrupt practices.

3, GMB has proven not be a tribalist as reports has shown that majority of his officials during his military regime were not of Northern extraction.

4, Same set of people has ruled us for over 15years, let give other party a chance

Conclusively, we shall be prepared for a revolution if the Buhari government fails us, if they win anyway.

Sorry for the long write up, discussing Nigeria's political situation can be likened to writing a novel; feel free to add your reasons below:

God bless Nigeria!

Son it is a pity you think this way.

Look again at the highlighted part of your post. If you vote Buhari because his terrorist supporters are killing people what will happen if between 2015 and 2019 the south south folks decide to continually bomb away all the oil installations and force the nation into economic crisis. You will vote a south south man then in 2019 to stop the bombing?

What now happens if between 2019 and 2023 with a south south man in power, due to your vote, the North now resume the killing and the south west decide to add their own flavour by closing down all the banks continously asking for their son to be president? who will you vote for in 2023?

Say no to terrorism, Say no to Blackmail, Say No to Buhari

A terrorist can never get my vote

Fashola said he only needed one term but he stayed for 8yrs. Its all politics and they're all say the same, even Buhari said he won't contest again in 2015, he is still there now.

Goodone okoye, its just a great feeling when u realise the truth they hid frm u. Gej statement of if he cant give nigerians power in his first term he cant do it even if given 10yrs, that stament shows u the mindset of the man, not only does it apply to power it applies to boko haram, economy,corruption, bad governance. A man is what he says. Refuse to be brainwashed by pdp, now that the talk of islamization has been buried, pdp are now saying buhari would jail them if he wins. But can u jail who is not guilty in democracy. Let gmb jail them all.

dont mind TAN people their ads only end in nta. I wonder if u must insult to drive a point. But that is what they are all like their leader okupe called himself bastard. These people do not believe anyone has freedom to choice. They always want to impose themselves and ideas, the same way gej would use the court to free the guilty and convicts because the guilty believe in his ideas. @the other guy that talked about fashola, fashola had asked for secönd term because he had plan and focus on where he was ataining. Gmb was prevailed upon to contest after he said no more, el rufai and common nigerians had urged him to put saving nigeria above his desire to quit. But gej had no reason to demand a second term, and like this statment would hunt him, if was not able to perform in the 1st term he cant in 2nd

Just ignore the agents of hate and division. That is who they are. The moment you refuse to scream "GEJ till 2019", you are marked as enemy or "slave".

Just ignore these agents of darkness. 16 years of PDP with no meaningful achievement to show and many people still think we should give PDP another four years. Those who want PDP still need to get their heads examined.

do u knw u can be jailed for that statement for deformation of character by law. Yes indeed he made some statements, asari, obj have even made worse it can be either out of exitment or anöyance. If the fg find him culpable for any act he could have been trialed. Today gmb has no case to answer in court or to fg. So were did u get ur baseless accusations. If gmb was terrorist the fg would tell us, i dont believe the fg is scared of one man.

yeah you dont call someone a terrorist without hardcore proof. In law even if u see a man that shot a man in ur presence, he would be called suspect until the fact is proven in court

@OP.

You have made the right choice. Just ignore any insult thrown at you by frustrated disciples of a President who has only monumental and universally-acclaimed failure to show for his 5 years leadership of Nigeria. If you notice one trend on Nairaland lately it is that supporters of the APC and GMB do not waste their time joining pro-GEJ thread to begin raining insult on those who express a desire to vote for our current President.

Inversely, look at your thread and similar which are always full of GEJ fans trying to bully and insult Nigerians against voting GMB. They will even embrace discredited lies and scaremongering to be talking about Buhari and his "Boko Haram boiz". You are not dealing with reasonable people who respect the right of everyone to vote and be voted for. You are dealing with clannish bigots who do not know their place and are not confident in the chance of their ultra-failed messiah (GEJ) to emerge victorious next year. Such folks are best ignored because time is valuable and not to be wasted on prejudiced and foul-mouthed touts.
