So, I was tryin to format a friends htc sensation xe fone through the recovery mode and the fone failed to boot. It just refused to get past the htc logo. Pls nairaland engineers help with tutorial links and all..Thank u in anticipation of ur help.

if ur device is rooted and has a custom recovery such as cwm, 4ext and it's s-off,then there is hope.what makes it easier is when u have a nandriod backup.if not,check if ur hboot is s-off by holding power and volume down button simutanously for some few seconds,if s-off,download a cwm recovery image file to install the recovery using hboot go to xda developers for details abt ur phone.

The image file to be download must be for ur device.Rename the file in ur device ruu code for example htc incredible 2 ruu code PG32IMG.zip.Put the file in the root of ur sd card and reboot to hboot as said above.the hboot will detect the file and ask for update click yes with power button and reboot.u have sucessfully installed cwm recovery over stock recovery.

u can then download a rom for ur device and put it in the root of ur sd card install using cwm recovery.follow the instructions on how to install.profit!

Sir I have s-off in my device and I also have the cmrecovery.img, my device name is HTC T528w, pls to what should I name the recovery.img? And I don't have any 4xt, cwm installed before. It was font that bricked my device. It stuck at d HTC logo. Pls help. Tanx.

is it a zip file? Google ur device ruu code .it must be in zip form and rename the zip based on the ruu code of ur device.For example HTC incredible 2 ruu code is PG32IMG ,u then rename the zip as PG32IMG.zip.

Sir I have renamed it as u said although I didn't compressed it as .zip I just rename it cos am using BB. I reboot to Hboot but it did not detect it. I can sent screenshot of wat I saw. And pls sir, are u on whatsapp? I will like to add u. Tanx.

Dude, ur phone has been bricked.. Good thing u can still boot into bootloader, here, there are two choices, either u want ur stock rom back or custom rom. But i'd advice you to go for the custom rom reason been that, it is lesser in size (btw 100mb - 250mb) but if u wish to go for the stock rom.. Ts yr choice... And please wat these guts r telling u about compressing recovery.img is wrong coz u will keep getting errors because inside the zip u are to create, u must have a folder (META-INF) this will enable your phone to read the content in the zip folder, but the meta-inf is way too hard to create cos it requires time n concentration...
