Good Evening My Dear Family.

I have this childhood friend that we did a bit of our growing up together. But we parted ways as far back as 1999 in our early teenage years. And then we met again early this year, sorry I mean last year. #great feeling it was.
We are both visiting home this season for the celebration of Christmas and New Year. He studied at one of the federal polytechnics in the South, while I am a student at one of the Universities in the South. So it was so easy for us to get along as a result of our [already] familiarity with the region.
To cut the long story short, he came to pay me a visit this morning and I decided to follow him to his house to pick his phone while we take a stroll afterwards. But unfortunately for me/us, as we were about leaving his compound, a rugged looking vehicle with rugged and stern-looking guys just ''doublecrossed'' us. #abeg dat tin wey dey hapun for Hollywood gangster movies na real o....#una nid to see d action wey those guys take bounce out, chai I nearly piss for body o, bcuz one of dem wan bring out him gun#.
Then I heard him trying to greet them in a familiar way with a familiar tone. And the leader [of the gang] asked him why he didn't answer their ''summon;" he was trying to explain before the guy cut him short by asking him who I was. He said I was 'just' a friend, and the "bross" just simply asked me to "disappear." #before I knew, many other guys came with bikes and the place was full of [cult] guys. They asked him to enter the car, he refused, and they opened the trunk of the car to force him in. He was dragging with them. I didn't go too far cuz I felt it wouldn't speak well of me (to run and leave a friend at such a moment, no matter what). So I came back; though I didn't do anything, but I stood with them and was watching. #Before I go further, I want to quickly state here that: I don't drink and I don't smoke - not that I'm a saint - but I don't womanise either. Yes, I like women, but I put a limit to everything. Why did I quickly chip that piece of info in? Because I don't hang out or go to any ''joints'' with him/them. Because ever since I've been in this place, all they do daily is to invite me to bars and I've duly turned them down. So yesterday was massive for them. As usual, they invited me but I turned them down and was at home all through. #boring guy. And I'm sure the cause of this issue must have arose yesterday, New Year' Day (grooving).
Before I knew it, one of the guys grabbed me through my trousers (d way police take dey arrest for Naija) trying to bring out his gun, and started questioning me, asking me the cult group I belong . #oh boi, come and see me stammering, "bros, u nor know me?" "na my mama get dat shop wey near dat popular pharmacy" "na my mama be dat popular woman wey dem dey call mama ****," "na my mama still be d woman wey dey sell water." #I'm not sure I got the "job" because I just didn't perform well at the "interview."

The saving grace was; the guy's (my friend's) nieces saw all these and quickly alerted their grandmum, who came out shouting, crying, dragging, and calling, in fact, the girls joined her. The woman said her grandson wasn't going anywhere, that they must settle it all right there and then. Immediately there was commotion as a result of the old woman's distraction, the guy 'jumped and zoomed off', so to speak. As they pursued him, the guy that was holding me [with a gun], left me in order to join the others in the 'chase.' I didn't need an angel or the Holy Spirit to tell me what to do; my head only communicated with my legs, and that was all.

My Dear Nairalanders, na so I take see myself for inside my mama house o. Till now, I never fit tell my mama or anybody wetin I see o, because I still dey shake.

#Na so death hard? I respect people that comit suicide o.

just keep your head down men. and stay away from that yoir "friend". so... he knew he was marked all this while and he kept tagging you with him. on a good day, dem for drop you two and ask questions later. that's how they operate. that your friend is marked. he is now a score. stay away from him
