We know President Jonathan built 12 new federal universities, and generally increased funding for the Education sector. What are Buhari's plans for this sector, because I've never heard him specifically address it either in his speeches or in his public statements.

He feels 'fighting corruption' is the answer to every question of national significance.

So the answer is simple. Our president in waiting will fight corruption to improve the standard of education.

How many time did schools go on strike under military rule even after GMB How do you embark on strike when there is no freedom whatsoever under military rule

The decay in the educational system did not just start under GEJ, need I remind you that under OBJ our institutions were shut for over year, not supporting our institutions going on strike under GEJ though...

I would love to know GMB's policies on education, and how he intends to stop the decay in our educational system...

GMB manifesto is a bit okay, but I would want him to tell nigerians how he intends to go about making his manifesto work...

Can you list any specific achievements by Buhari in the education sector? He did inherit a robust system from the civilian govt he overthrew, and can hardly be praised for its stability after he'd seized power.

Simple question they asked, "what is Buhari's policy on education?" No one could give concrete answers. All we could see was how Buhari led a battalion of soldiers from Victoria Island to Idumota, abi from Banana Island to Ikoyi.
Is that the questions being asked? Even if people are doubting his literacy, why don't you leave that for Buhari to answer and stop acting like you are paid to defend Buhari anywhere. If you have an idea of what his policies on educations are, kindly tell us.

What is Goodluck Jonathan policy on Education after 6 years? He put Wike in charge of Ministry of Education who looted most the funds to contest for River State governor and when he was in charge we had so many strikes in Universities

EDUCATION
1. Fully implement and enforce the provisions of the Universal Basic Education Act with emphasis on gender equity in primary and secondary school enrollment whilst improving the quality and substance of our schools;
2. Targeting up to 15% of our annual budget for this critical sector whilst making substantial investments in training quality teachers at all levels of the educational system;
3. Implement performance based education as against the current certificate based qualification;
4. Enhance teacher training and improve the competence of teachers along with vigorous national inspection;
5. Make learning experiences more meaningful for children and make education more cost-effective;
6. Develop and promote effective use of innovative teaching methods/materials in schools;
7. Ensure a greater proportion of expenditure on university education is devoted to Science and Technology with more spaces allocated to science and technology oriented courses;
8. Establish at least six new universities of science and technology with satellite campuses in various states;
9. Establish technical colleges and vocational centers in each state of the federation;
10. Provide more conducive environment for private sector participation in all levels of education;
11. Establish six centers of excellence to address the needs of special education;

I particularly like No 3, competence over certifications (papers that can be bought), we will get there.

A typical example of the problem Nigeria is facing. We are still talking about Buhari here and moreso, why should you ask me about Jonathan's policy on education. Do I look like I know them?
Comment in accordance to the topic being discussed.

You mean you don't give a damn about the current government's policy on education, but you suddenly find it important to scream for the incoming government's policy?
Anyway, now that you have it, what do you have to say?

Buhari will most likely merge the universities in the country to a manageable 9 to reduce the amount of money spent on university administration, while he will increase funding for NDA.

6 federal universities in the 6 geopolitical zones plus a university in lagos, Abuja and port harcourt.
He will also scrap scholarships by Ptdf, federal ministry of education and the presidency and the money channelled to nomadic education and military training.

The good side of it is that ASUU will finally be on the defensive but the education system will be really pruned, the north doesn't value education much.
Another thing Buhari will prune is the salary and allowance allowances of the legislative arm of the government which will be comparable with the judiciary unlike presently where every legislator is a multimillionaire.

Buhari will do absolutely nothing about the present oil well allocations but will try t cut the present 13% allocations to the Niger delta states.
Always Ibom should say good bye to their big federal allocation because that would be the first casualty of Buharinomics.

billions will be spent by NNPC in bauchi,borno, yobe with out much success while other states with support from foreign companies will not get much assistance as oil prospecting in the Niger delta will be done 200km off shore to discourage militancy and the 13% allocations to some states.

The core north will man the ministry of petroleum, finance, transport, defence , works while igbos will head information and culture , sports and justice.
yorubas will get aviation, culture, education and health, the Niger delta will get police affairs, internal affairs, foreign affairs

I knew it!

Any question about Buhari is always going to produce an answer that involves GEJ.... we should vote Buhari because GEJ is bad, not because Buhari is good, is what they are telling us.... but we know better.... GEJ may be bad, we we know that Buhari is worse... and so we have decided that tis gonn' be GEJ till 2019. Take that to the bank.

Something is really wrong with you,how is Buhari worse than GEJ,when Buhari was power he plugged all the loopholes from corruption and arrested 4000 politicians and sent them to jail,seized their properties and Bank accounts locally and abroad.
