I sure everyone has that neighbour who disturbs the compound with their generator. Am staying in a compound of six (6) apartment 2 bedroom flat each, it's built in a mind ur business way We only share water n parking space. Now a neighbour of mine wouldn't allow us rest with his generator he puts it on once nepa or na phcn takes light, dey one wey dey pain na leaving the generator on till mid - night not minding or caring abt others sleeping for work the next day. Was wondering if I could approach him but I just moved in. Pls share ur experience n advice thks

Hehehe..I understand you. My own Gen goes off by 10pm but I have some neighbors that go overboard..its really annoying with the horrible noise but we have to manage.

Your generator,provided it doesn't make a hell of a noise and the carbon monoxic fumes disturb no one (which is rarely the case) can be running as long as suits you.
My elderly relative once came over to our house and we were in the balcony talking until a generator suddenly came on.
My relative looked around bewildered saying she didnt know they ground pepper in the area

Neighbours should be taken into consideration before deciding to put on your gen at odd hours of the day/night.

Well, it depends on what the person is using the generation for. Some may put off their generator set by 10pm while some people (me inclusive) put off mine at 11pm. Because I most times listen †o late night news with my family.

The only time I feel a generator sound would constitute nuisance is when the owner puts it on around 1am under the pretense of mosquito and heat.

I think you should talk to the owner and If possible inform your landlord and if the owner still refuses,call your attorney.
