I found an envelop this a.m with a particular amount in it. The word 'TITHE' was indicated on it with a blue pen-ink. I do not know how it got there, let alone, determine the church the owner of the money attends.
I have it in mind to use the money on road-side beggars.
What do you advice?

The person with that envelop intends to give it to the church. Didn't jesus said you are the church? If i were you i would rather give it to the needy or use it for myself than make a pastor more richer. You would be one of the worst dumbskull if you give that tithe to any church.

Honestly use it on road side beggars like you intend to. If more christians give to them like tithe they wouldn't be any!

You are right. tithe belongs to God and can only be given to Him through the church...whatever the priest or the pastor does with it, is solely between him and God.

You mean the church deserve that money more than needy? And we wonder why nigeria is in such mess. How about donating the money into foundations for the blind,deaf or just skill aquisition? how is the church more important than that?

I think u have to make some research about tithing. tithe can never be given to the needy, yes u are right about giving to needy but definitely not the tithe.. . Read Malachi 3:10 and see what God said about tithes

On the contrary you need to do a lot of research on tithing as I have already done so over ten years ago and I know everything the bible has to say about tithes and not just your malachi 3:10 that pastors love to use to manipulate believers into giving them their. Money. Read deuteronomy 14: 22-29 if you want to know more about tithes. There you would learn that a tither can eat his tithe himself and also give to the poor and needy out out of it.
