Last year, the Ugandan president sparked
widespread outrage when he banned the mini-skirt.
He warned women against wearing ‘short and
revealing’ skirts because it is unacceptable in African
cultures.

The internet went into over-drive; Facebook,
Twitter and other social media networks were abuzz
with irritated and angry people.

It is important to note that in Nigeria, most teenage girls have been victims of sexual assault.

What are my thoughts on the matter?
What a woman wears has nothing to do with rape. Life doesn’t have to be a skin show, but it sure doesn’t have to be suffocating for women.
Everyone has a right to choose what they wear. We
should never force anyone to do anything because
that’s taking away their freedom.

I could go on and on but let me know what you think:

Do you also think that “just because you’ve got it,
doesn’t mean you should flaunt it”?

Is it anyone’s business what a woman wears?

Are mini-skirts risque?

A rapist is a beast. Nobody forces anyone to rape anybody. A girl in mini skirt is sexually desirable; however acting on those desires is wrong on all levels.

I don't see why a person should rape a lady because She's wearing a mini skirt. Those kind of people are perverts.

It only encourages a guy without self control,

though Ladies in Mini Skirt are Sexually desireable by Men.

Mini skirt is just a symbol 2 rep indecent dressing I believe.

Truth be told. It does, but that's not to encourage rape o!

An imbecilee wearing a mini skirt. angry

An endowed female wearing a mini skirt.

No, rapists are violating even animals. Dressing is just an excuse for the psychos.

No it does not. If a man cannot control himself when he sees a woman wearing a mini skirt, then he needs to be locked up.

Not directly. However, certain types of skimpy dressing indicates to onlookers that the wearer is seeking male attention and/or admiration. Some aggressive men could then decide that since she is searching for sexual contact, she should be honoured to have him provide it. Her rejection of his advances would be misconstrued as personal rejection of his person, since to him, she obviously wants sex, just not with him. This serves to anger him, and further reduce his sensitivity to her sufferings.
A modestly dresssed lady immedeately gives the impression that; "nothing personal, but I am neither seeking sexual attention nor admiration from ANY male.. including you". In this case, she would be neutral to such a man. She does not hurt his ego. This occurs in spontaneous rape.
In most rape cases however, the lady allows someone she knows to get her into a position of disadvantage. Either she gets drunk, or is secluded somewhere with a brute of a friend/ acquaintance, or other such avoidable situation.

Note: I could care less about the notion of "hypocrisy" that's just some notion a dead Greco-Roman dude I don't care about cooked up. I'm interested in the sequence of actions that made people change there outlook.

A woman could walk around naked and she is not encouraging nor deserving of rape. Any man who rapes is a monster.

Let us not blame the wrong thing for the inability of some people to restrain themselves from showing a beast-like sexual tendency.

Let us be honest with our self, In this society where the ethics involve application of clothing especially for women who have been turned to nothing more than sexual icons in this society.

There are other societies that do not attach much importance to female clothing nor over sexualize a woman's body to sate the raging egoism of the male folks.

Why are there more rape cases in this our society where we wear clothes than those societies where they walk almost unclad.

We have always been taught that a woman's body is dangerous to man, that it will lead man to sin

But let us be blunt here, A woman's body is not dangerous to any man, a woman's body will not lead you to sin.

Yes a woman's body might be sexually attractive to men as a natural instinct but lets not forget a man's body is also sexually attractive to women.

A woman's body is not the main reason people rape women, that someone is too stup_id to stop themselves from doing stupi_d things is their own responsibility.

it is not the woman's fault.

Because the last i checked when a Gay man rapes a fellow man nobody blames it on the victim's clothing.

Why then do we do that when it involves the female folks... This is an act of chronic egoism..

Male seeking to impose their own idea of decency on women
