If you were to ask a theologian's point of view, most would say there is no denying prayer works. All around the globe prayer is used by man as means of connecting to the divine and has been a part of religious rites and practices for ages. But what about those of you who may not follow any religious doctrine? Do you still believe in prayer?

Scientists often dispute the existence of deity therefore questioning whether or not prayer works. There have been many different studies on prayer and although there are no absolutes, many scientists have found prayer to be quite effective.

I have no links nor statistics to show because I want to get everyone's personal opinion on the subject. I've seen many shows on the subject and read many articles articles on prayer that both support and negate the effectiveness of it.

So I'm asking all of you, Satanists, Christians, Buddhists (if there are any here on NairaLand), agnostics, atheisists and everything in between to please give me your thoughts on prayer and why you do or don't utilize it.

And please, let's keep this serious and lend some dignity to the thread and not say someone's an idiot for believing in it, okay? Not to say you can't have your opinion because if you really feel that way, that's fine by me. But at the very least, give an intelligent response as to why you feel that way.

thanks from Ogaga grin
