Election Postponement: How Minister of Justice allegedly bribed JUSUN to call off strike EXPOSED; Union Sec. on the run over threat to life

A major scandal has hit the Nigerian Judiciary Union workers under the auspices of THE JUDICIARY STAFF UNION OF NIGERIA (JUSUN).

According to the national secretary of the union, Mr. Isaiah Adetola, who may now be on the run for safety of his life, as a result of alleged threat to his life over his refusal to yield to the bidding of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Hon. Bello Adoke; the present ongoing strike, which was abruptly called off yesterday by the union, was forced on them by the Minister of Justice.

Adetola in a statement released yesterday and made available newspunch.org, alleged that the union has no basis to go on strike as it currently on. He revealed that the strike was masterminded by the Attorney General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice, Hon Bello Adoke in order to frustrate the Supreme Court from pronouncing on the eligibility of Mr. President to run the election in 2015 and to also shutout politicians, who may be dissatisfied with the outcome of the PDP primaries and might want to initiate pre-election suit.

He said; “At the first instance, the Attorney General of the Federation, Hon. Bello Adoki came to the Union to appeal that we should go on strike so we can prevent the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court from pronouncing on the eligibility of Mr. President to run the election in 2015 and to also shutout politicians, who may be dissatisfied with the outcome of the PDP primaries and might want to initiate pre-election suit. I opposed the idea, but because of the volume of resources the AG mobilized for the state chapters, including Abuja and the National Secretariat, I was shutdown by members”

On threat to his life; the JUSUN national secretary revealed that the same Minister of Justice, Hon. Bello Adoke, who forced the ongoing strike on the union with huge bribe now want the strike to be called off so as to pave way for some persons to go to Court to stop the 2015 General Election that is scheduled for next month.

“Now the Attorney General wants JUSUN to call off the strike because they want some persons to go to Court to stop the 2015 General Election that is scheduled for next month. I have opposed this just as I did for the strike, but this time around they are willing to provide JUSUN even double the first amount. My colleagues are excited and expectant”

“I couldn’t have cared less of the their money, however, I am constrain to bring these facts to the PUBLIC DOMAIN because my life is now under treat. I have receive several anonymous called threaten to kill me should I continue to refuse to sign for the reopening of the courts”, Adetola stated

The Judiciary workers under the umbrella of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) had embarked on a nationwide strike action on January 2. JUSUN is seeking the implementation of a Federal High Court Judgement in Abuja, which granted financial autonomy to the judiciary and restraining executive interferences with judicial funds.

Just yesterday, the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN suspended its three weeks old strike in federal courts.

The suspension was the result of a meeting held at the Supreme Court on Sunday at the instance of the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Ahmed Gambo.

HERE IS THE FULL TEXT OF JUSUN NATIONAL SECRETARY THREAT TO LIFE STATEMENT ISSUED YESTERDAY.

THE MANIPULATION OF THE JUDICIARY STAFF UNION OF NIGERIA (JUSUN) BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND THE THREAT TO MY LIFE.

“I am Isaiah Adetola the National Secretary of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN). I am constrained to issue this statement and to say that I will not support the use of JUSUN as a political tool for politicians or to be used by Federal Government a second time.

At the first instance, the Attorney General of the Federation, Hon. I opposed the idea, but because of the volume of resources the AG mobilized for the state chapters, including Abuja and the National Secretariat, I was shutdown by members.

Accordingly, they crafted a reason for JUSUN which they gave as the alleged refusal of the Executive Arm of Government at the Federal and State levels to comply with the January 13, 2014 judgment delivered by Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court and we adopted. Today the courts are closed.

Now the Attorney General wants JUSUN to call off the strike because they want some persons to go to Court to stop the 2015 General Election that is scheduled for next month. I have opposed this just as I did for the strike, but this time around they are willing to provide JUSUN even double the first amount. My colleagues are excited and expectant.

I couldn’t have cared less of the their money, however, I am constrain to bring these facts to the PUBLIC DOMAIN because my life is now under treat. I have receive several anonymous called threaten to kill me should I continue to refuse to sign for the reopening of the courts. Let me use this medium to reassure members of JUSUN that I shall not yield to such threat. It is not in the interest of the Nation.

Please, may I also use this medium to also notify Nigerians that should anything happen to me, they should know which direct to look at.

Long live JUSUN

long live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
