Ado Ekiti—Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayo Fayose has lamented that the state government needed the sum of N7.5 billion to settle arrears of entitlements of public servants in the state. He admitted that he sometimes does not know where to start which gives him sleepless nights.*Ayo FayoseThe governor was speaking in Ado Ekiti yesterday while inaugurating some projects to mark his 100 days in office.According to him, the entitlements included August and September 2014 salaries of some workers, subventions due to state-owned institutions, leave bonus among others.Fayose declared that despite the challenges and commitments that he would strive to execute some projects and pay salaries promptly.“We have about N7.8 billion obligation to workers in the state. The obligations were left behind by the former administration, which include over N2 billion as leave bonus to workers, over N1 billion as deductions from workers’ salaries that the former administration did no remit.“August and September 2014 salaries they did not pay some workers amounting to over N2 billion. Subventions to tertiary institutions which is over N2 billion as well.“I don’t know where to start sometimes I cannot sleep. We did not inherit anything tangible from the former administration.“ The six months’ moratorium from banks that we got, will lapse in two months and when that happens, banks will be deducting N780 million monthly to service the over N31 billion loans the former administration left behind.“Also, N800 million is deducted from our statutory allocation monthly to service the N25 billion bond that they took. We have approached four banks to borrow us money to pay at least one month out of the two months salaries owed some workers. But essential things must be done. I call for understanding from people and I am committed to making life better for the people,” the governor said. The governor further noted that paying workers’ salaries promptly had become a cardinal point of his administration, given the poor state of the economy and finances of the state. The governor noted that the challenges met in office would never be an excuse for him not to perform his duties and fulfil his electoral promises.Among the projects lined up for inauguration were the rehabilitated Matthew Road, Ado-Ekiti, Bisi Market, Awedele Road, Ado-Ekiti, drainages along Ajilosun Road, Ado-Ekiti.Others are 12 ambulances, 19 patrol vans for security agencies, 20 motorbikes, three tractors and 12 waste vehicles.

Fellow Compatriots, vote your conscience. Don't be manipulated. If your pastor says don't vote for a Muslim, ask him if Daniel served a saint; whether Modeccai did not serve King Ahaseurus and if Joseph was not a prime Minister under Pharaoh. This election is not about North versus South, nor is it Christian versus Muslim. It is about Nigeria and good governance. Don't allow politicians divide us. When they share money, they don't talk about religion. When they want donations from Aliko Dangote, they don't remember he is a Muslim. When they enter an aircraft, they don't ask the religious faith of the pilot. When their bosses are atheists, they don't resign from the job. When an Alhaji gives them contracts, they don't reject it. They and their wives go to Dubai to spend money. Dubai is in United Arab Emirate but they have no problems buying houses in Dubai. But when it comes to politics back home, they say they want to ISLAMISE you. Yet, some of these people were spiritual consultants to Abacha. Vote your conscience. If you want to vote for Jonathan, vote for him based on your conviction that he has performed in your estimation and not because he is a "Christian". If you want to vote for Buhari, vote for him because you feel disenchanted with Jonathan government, not because he is a Muslim. Say NO to bigotry. God bless Nigeria.

How did he spend 20b GEJ said he has released to the state in the last 3mths? This is another reason why I hate GEJ with passion. Starving the opposition states with fund to discredit them before their people and promoting the PDP controlled states. Your days of rubbish in office is numbered .

Fayose is a bad administrator. He reduced the school fees of the university without sitting down to think of where the funds will come from. Now the state has to take more out of their little allocation to finance the university.

The FG owes Ekiti state close to 20billion. Fayemi said it, the FG did not deny it. Instead of him to pursue that he was busy making noise. He spent December allocations sharing food without paying workers. Now he is funding campaigns when he is not even running and he remembers that he cant pay workers.

He needs to sit down with his financial advisers and see how exactly they can generate funds as the ways the former government generated funds has been blocked rather unwisely by him dude to his campaign promises and now he finds himself here.

You made the policies, pay your workers!

Won't he pay off his campaign debts? Fayemi said he left 5billion in the state's account and brought prove yet we don't know where the cash goes.

If he is asked about the 20billiin, he will find some way to say he does not know about it

What a legacy from the man who bought N50 million bed shocked

perry2020:
Ongoing viral reports say the outgoing Governor of Ekiti state Kayode Fayemi spent about N3billion renovating and revamping the government quarters. - spending at least N100million for his bedroom and his wife's as the beds in there worth 30 and 20 million Naira respectively.
The newly elected Governor of Ekiti state, Governor Ayo Fayose allegedly revealed this.

According to him, in a statement by his Special Assistant Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the new government house was an act of insensitivity to the plight of Ekiti State people, many of whom cannot afford to feed once in a day.

“When we visited the Government House for the first time yesterday, I was like: how I wish I can sell off this place or turn it to commercial use.“It is simply wicked for a governor to be more interested in this manner of ostentatious comfort at the expense of the people.“The bed on which Fayemi slept before he left government alone costs over N30 million!

“That of his wife costs over N20 million! “Between Fayemi and his wife, what was spent on their bedrooms, toilets and bathrooms will be in the region of N100 million.

“How can a responsible government use borrowed fund to provide this kind of luxury for the governor and his family alone in a state where a lot of people cannot afford to feed once in a day?

“People should ask the outgone governor what was really wrong with the abandoned governor’s lodge used by his (Fayemi) predecessors?, the governor quizzed.
