1. Accounts Officer (Ref: JOB/15-01)

Job Objective
The Accounts Officer will work as part of the Finance team to provide accounting services & financial support to the organization as well as implement cost control & budgeting techniques in accordance with Local and international standards.

Job Description
-Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports
-Compile and analyze all the statutory returns such as VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc. for remittance to appropriate authorities.
-Establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
-Analyze and review budgets and expenditures for private funding, contracts and grants.
-Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
-Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents.
-Prepare and analyze Bank reconciliation statements and generate all exception reports
-Prepare monthly management account and as well resolve accounting discrepancies
-Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing system.
-Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company’s automated financial systems.
-Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
-Assist in the Bank runs and as well provide accounting policy orientation for new staff.

Qualifications and Experience
-Minimum of First degree in Accounting, Economics or any other related course
-3 – 5 years industry experience as well as ICAN membership
-Having a post graduate degree like ACCA, MBA or MSc is an added advantage
-Knowledge of Quick Book Accounting Software or similar software is an advantage
-Having unquestionable integrity, self-starter, energetic and result driven
-Able to work independently and as a part of a team, on several concurrent tasks with changing priorities
