What I Will Be When I Grow Up Is ? by earTHMama: 12:01am On Dec 28, 2008
What was your dream career when you were little?. Did you achieve that or did you change your mind when you grew up? was it a very stupid thought as a child and how fulfilled are you with what you are doing now?

Lol, i loved the regiment as a little girl. I wanted to be a cop or a soldier and up till now, i still reserve that crush for that job even though i know it's not gonna happen.

My dream was to become an accountant, starting my own business(this is #1 on my lists)

Some of my dreams came through, while some changed, instead of been an accountant, i studied economics and criminal law in business but that doesn't mean mean am still not giving up on my dreams, with God and determination am surely going to succeed,so all my dreams can come through kiss

As a young, primary school boy in the early 90's, my ambition was to read Business Administration in University, become a businessman with a Group of companies, build many houses in my Offa hometown,Lagos,Kaduna,Abuja,London etc. This ambition was motivated by the fact that the richest person in my family (my elder, big brother) read Biz Admin and was doing well as the CEO of his flourishing company. I really dreamt so much about this to the extent that I used to tear some portion of my school exercise books and list the names I wanted to give to my companies, the traditional and religious titles I wanted to get all over Yorubaland(like Abiola), the private numbers I wanted to have on my cars, the cars I wanted to buy etc. I was living in a dreamland then.

Later, midway into secondary school,my ambition drifted from being a Businessman to being a banker. There was a man from my town then, Dr. Femi Adekanye, then the Chairman/CEO of the now-liquidated Commerce bank. He was also the CIBN President then. He was my role model. I liked him and looked forward to being a banker. My goal was to one day become CBN Governor. When I was completing my UME form in 2000, I filled Banking and Finance(UNILAG) as first choice and Business Admin(Unilorin) as second choice. I was still determined to be a banker, or at least a Businessman. But my elder brother advised me to choose Economics, that it covers all those two courses combined. Since Ife had been my long term ambition, and chose Unilag just because Ife didn't offer Banking/Finance and Bus Admin, I quickly changed Unilag to Ife and Banking to Economics. I knew I can still be a banker, studying Economics. My goal as at the time I entered Ife in 2001 was still to become a banker. But before the end of my year 1, lost interest in my banker ambition due to some personal and religious reasons.

I'm now an Accountant, even though I never dreamt of being one and even hated Accounting while growing up. I wrote ICAN, simply because I knew having it with add to my marketability, not because I wanted a long-term Accounting career. But even at that, I have still not made up my mind to have a life career in Accounting. I'm just finding it difficult to like it, even though that's what I do now, If at all I want to be a professional, I prefer Investment banking. But by my nature, I think I'll make a better entrepreneur. And that is my reigning ambition!!!
