I will be glad to see people getting good dogs,i am importing a sister & wife for Cooper based on my daughters suggestion that Cooper should have a companion ...It make likely enter the country on Sunday 22nd March.
I think you should just sell off the caucasian; it appears you don't really like her. If your daughter could say that, it means you're making it very obvious, coz kids are observant. I have a feeling that Cooper doesn't know the caucasian is living in the same house with him.

I think it would be right to say i am given Cooper ONLINE attention. The Caucasian at 7 months is doing very fine, she is a large dog, i can't leave her with Cooper unsupervised not because they get into fight but because Cooper is rough and she can smash him with one foot.

Cooper is very much aware of the Caucasian but i have refused to bring her in because the thread is for Cooper. Time will not permit me to open a thread for her.

A pics of the Caucasian... She is 7 months does she look OK?

She is so loyal, this is a dog that learn basic obedience training very early..A friend came to help me out sometime ago to feed her,he was surprised that after serving the dog her food she will wait patiently until he takes his walk and get to a certain distance before she will start eating.

He told me and i laughed it was an obedience training to forestall a large dog jumping at you or grabbing food from you.

Once i get close to her she either bows or sits this was to forestall an excited large dog jumping, pacing and messing up your clothes.

I take obedience training for Puppies very serious,i have seen large dogs that even the owners cannot handle him or her it is completely wrong.

Of course, she looks good and well-fed...humble too. Like u said, I wouldn't advise u to leave Cooper with her unsupervised, but I believe you should allow them, at times, play together outdoors so they'd get used to each other. You're doing a good job, Deeptesting!

Wow, how much does it cost to get dogs like this? How can one go (website or anything would help) about it? I once saw a chow chow - omg dog of my dreams. I wonder if they can survive Naija weather.

Yes, they can survive the weather they just need care..Available fresh water at all times,Vera drinks water & you begin to think if you should take her to the stream. The agent who got the dogs in said he does not want his # number on published on public forum due to unserious buyers & spam.

He also does not want me to state the cost, i understand his points but you need good money to get these dogs.

Well, that shouldn`t be my business anyway but i just want to help his ministry... Between your budget should be from 300k,It could be higher but not lower and pray for the value of the naira. Hope it helps.

I thought Dogs loved bones

Yes they do alot but it's very risky for them if it goes wrong

Considering what happened the last time, please introduce the bones gradually:
Give him 1 small bone. Check his next 2 poops and if there are no issues, give him a bigger one tomorrow. Then you keep adding more.

For me it's no bones at all anymore, I trained. My older dog with bones and she's really good at it (unlike the younger Rotweiler which I don't give at all). The day it went sour, she was eating slowly and d next thing started coughing, and that was it, bone stuck somewhere around her throat, it wasn't funny, took days to manage d situation she couldnt even bark until she was fine

What kind of bone was the one that got stuck in her throat?

It was chicken bones, cooked I normally buy dem alongside minced beef from the mart for them. Normally she is patient in chewing them, I just heard her coughing several times that day, that alerted me.

Since the arrival of Vera, Cooper has refused to eat alone except Vera joins him. Now they feed on one plate. It also encourages Cooper to eat because Vera eats like she is coming from a land where food is scarce.

Based on the advice of an NL member who was following the thread,i finally got the cord liver oil for Cooper to help give him a good fur.

I administered it daily for one week and i can tell you it is good.

Is the COD Liver Oil Liquid or Tablets? Also how do you feed it to Cooper, do you mix it with his food?

All oils are liquid, but they usually put it in a transparent capsule. You can puncture the capsule and mix the oil inside it with the dog's food.

Vera's stool has been watery since she arrived even though she eats dry food, the vet said i should observer her for at least 48hrs. Well, 72hrs past it is still the same,so he advice i buy her Diastop & give her 5ml twice daily. The abidec is a multivitamin.
