It's the white that used sobo to categorize you not me...I am sorry about that .

Urhobo isoko aladja are all the same language with dialect variation so is ijebu oyo ife okun and awori Yoruba dialect so is ika ukwuani onitsha oru ikwerre wawa are igbo dialects

Provided that both speakers understand themselves

Why is it the urhobo and isoko are ashamed to speak their language when they meet a new urhobo itsterkiri in Lagos I noticed it when my urhobo friend said that ...why
Oga Ade dem no b d same shaybi I tell u say our urhobo neighbour no understand jack of isoko .an urhobo girl evestar(don't if I got DAT)on this forum already confirmed she is based in ozoro an isoko town buh does not understand isoko language.
Whether anybody lyks it or not it is recognised as a seperate language by the constitution of both delta state and nigeria
Bye bye

Oh Mr history

Is it the oduduwa sky fall or is it the benin man that is a oduduwa or is it the wandering man named oduduwa which type of history are we talking about

I will prefer not to have history that make a jest of myself

Now which history again

Oh please... forget the Benin version of oduduwa, it is clearly a joke.

Thank you for the history of urhobos stated above. I just want to correct some things as I know it. Bovi the comedioan is not Urhobo but Isoko man, Sam Okposo also is Isoko not Urhobo. Again, in all Isoko and urhobo towns, Erhowa is d aborigins. They all meet erowha in its present place and seek for a place to abode which erhowa gave to them. Many urhobo towns migrated from Isoko like the Okpes, kokoris, effurun etc while olomoro in isoko migrated from olomu in urhobo land. Interrelationship between the two people started right from origin. Urhobo can't be the 5th largest tribe in Nigeria. We hav the Ggagyis, Nupes Tivs etc cutting across states and in large populations in the north. Please check your facts properly. Thanks

The yoruba story of Oduduwa is so funny, stupid and meaningless to me. Am always so surprised how a modern day learned person still believes all those folktales and still hold on to it with passion as if it makes them a better people. I feel we should be more intellectually advanced than those tales by moon light of oduduwa falling from heaven with a snail etc etc

Actually it's those who don't know much about yoruba traditions that take the Oduduwa "coming"(nt falling) from Orun so seriously. .. in traditional yoruba society there's two forms to the tales we tell - Historical and Mythical - Same names might appear but they are different personalities

take a look at Oduduwa, a spirit being that was sent to finish the work of Obatala who got drunk, their job was to reform the earth after a great flood.

then there's Oduduwa, a man who was most likely a native of Oke-Ora a component hamlet northeast of Ife..he led a civil war against the reigning King Obatala and brought the hamlets together under a unified government

see the difference? and why people can easily get confused

u lie, Urhobo women even work more than men to make a living, that's why people always have that mindset that Urhobo men are lazy not knowing that the women tend to work harder than the men that's why u see A lots if them having more property than the men.
