What is the fuss about so called lack of availability of PVC? Repeating the notion that PVC are not available to voters doesn't make it so. In 2011, there were 45 Million registered voters in which about 38 Million people were able to cast their votes. Fast forward to 2015 where voter register shows we have about 65 Million voters registered in which as at today 46 Million voters have been able to pick up their voters card. Furthermore, PVC collection is still on going for the next six days for those who need to pick up their PVCs. Extra 2-3 million voters are still expected to pick up voters card by end of February 13. More than 52 Million voters are expected to have picked up their cards by end of February 13.

I found it disheartening to see men who are close to their graves calling press conference and screaming blue murder. Any God fearing Nigerian must stand up to these bullies and shameless men who are calling for arrest and replacement of Professor Jega. INEC and Jega have done really well in the face of intimidation, insurgency and blackmail by PDP loyalists. Jega should be commended for Job well done instead of condemnation and blackmail.

If you want the facts, here are the facts as at today:

- there are about 9 million more registered voters with PVCs in 2015 than we had in 2011. 48 Million PVCs distributed so far in 2015 as against 39 Million distributed in 2011.

- there was unrest in the North-east and other places in the North in 2011 just as we have today. Election still held in 2011 despite the Boko Haram bombings.

- INEC is more prepared today than they were in 2011. Fact.

- the non collected PVCs belong to voters who did multiple registration in order to perpetuate electoral fraud. Biometric data collection is making it hard for politicians to have their foot soldiers pick up extra voters card like they used to do.

- from all indications, 2015 election cannot be rigged and it is giving certain PDP elements sleepless nights.

My question to Jonathanians, PDPians and TANoids: why are you scared of election coming up on February 14? Are you sacred of failure despite promising in the last three years that defeating Buhari at the polls is guaranteed? If you are not scared of failure, can you honestly tell us why do you want to plunge the country into turmoil and eventual elongation of GEJ's tenure through back door. This brouhaha of election postponement started by NSA, Dasuki and the reason for this brouhaha is nothing but to destabilize Nigeria. Can anyone tell me where 100% voters card collection ever happened before?

Also today, Doyin Okupe held a press conference about why INEC should not hold election next week. Okupe claimed previous elections were held in April and there should be no reason 2015 election shouldn't hold in April 2015. Okupe further claimed Nigeria is at war and election should not go ahead in the North-east due to insurgency.

You should all come to your senses. This event was deliberate and premeditated. It was all Jonathan's plan to have the North-east bogged down with war so he can remain in power beyond May 29 without election holding.

Here is another take: When people are desperate, they do stu.pid things. When you do stu.pid things, bad things happen as a result of your stupidity. Jonathan is desperate and something sinister is about to happen. There are anarchists in Nigeria who are cheering him on and hoping this impending unrest leads to Nigeria being balkanized. All I have to say is that Jonathan should take a cue from Lawrence Gbagbo and Charles Taylor. He is on the verge of ending up being in the shoes of one of those men.

If APC are so sure of winning why are they so scared of everyone voting? You want elections to go ahead when about 25million people can't vote abi? Even in Lagos over 60% of voters are yet to receive their PVCS and you want elections to proceed? What sort of elections would that be?

Here is Jega stand as at this morning in Saturday's Newspaper:

The Independent National Electoral Commission has listed Kano, Kaduna and Lagos as the states leading in the collection of Permanent Voter Cards.

The electoral body said it was committed to its earlier position that the Temporary Voter Cards would not be allowed for voting during the next general elections.

The INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, in his submission to the Council of State meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday, said the commission would not reverse its decision to use PVCs for the elections in order to enhance the credibility of the polls.

A copy of the submission titled: “Preparations for the 2015 general elections: Progress report,” presented to the Council of State meeting by Jega stated that a total of 45,098,876 PVCs had been collected across the country as of Wednesday.

A document tagged “Attachment 2” attached to Jega’s presentation claimed that the figure represents 65.81 per cent of the 68,833,476 total number of registered voters nationwide.

The document indicated that 3,190,417 voters had collected their PVCs out of the 4,975,701 registered voters in Kano State representing 64.11 per cent of the registered voters.

In Kaduna State, 2,976,628 voters, representing 87.36 per cent, have collected their cards out of 3,407,222 registered voters.

In Lagos State, 2,267,039 voters, representing 38.39 per cent, have collected their PVCs out of 5,905,852 registered voters.

In Katsina State, 2,245,303 voters (79.40 per cent) have collected their cards out of 2,827,943 registered voters.

Bayelsa State has the least number of voters with PVCs. In that state, 386,125 voters (63.26 per cent) have collected their cards out of 610,373 registered voters.

In Abuja, 464,769 voters (52.73 per cent) have collected their cards out of 881,472 registered voters.

In Ekiti State, 496,536 voters (67.83 per cent) have collected their PVCs out of 732,021 registered voters.

Jega, however, said the commission would not conduct elections with TVCs because they (the TVCs) had no chips and could therefore not be authenticated by card readers.

He added that if TVCs were allowed, millions of people who were involved in multiple registration and whose names had been removed from voters register for the next elections would approach polling units on election days, whereas their names would not be in the register.

The INEC chairman said, “The nation has invested a lot in the Card Readers and Permanent Voters Cards technology and the commission believes that using them in the 2015 general elections would confer remarkable transparency and credibility to the electoral process.

“There have been demands that the commission should revert to the use of TVCs issued during the 2011 registration and the subsequent Continuous Voters Registration.

“The TVCs have no chips and therefore cannot be verified or authenticated by the card readers. Also, there are more than four million cases of multiple registration; people with TVCs, who have been removed from the certified register of voters for the 2015 elections.

“Once the use of TVCs is allowed, many of these people would inundate polling units on election day; their names will not be in the register, and they would start agitation that they have been ‘disenfranchised’ as was the case during the Anambra State governorship elections in November 2013.

“In any case, people who collected PVCs no longer have TVCs because they used them to exchange for PVCs.

“Additionally, a high percentage of voters had to use the attestation forms provided to collect their PVCs due to loss of TVCs on account of floods, insurgency, etc.”

Meanwhile, Jega regretted that due to funding constraints, the commission could not do enough hands-on training for its Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers on the technology of the PVCs and card readers.

What did you mean by everyone voting? Is there a country where 100% of voters participated in an election? There were about 45-46 million eligible voters in 2011 and only about 38 Million voted. Now in 2015 we have over 9 Million voters more than we had in 2011 and collection of PVC is still going on for another six days.

In 2011 46million TVCs were distributed so whoever didn't vote, didn't want to vote

Give people their PVCS and leave it to them to vote or not.You make me laugh saying they we still have six days .if after two months only45 million PVCs have been distributed, how can you distribute 25m in six days?

Have you considered that parts of the cards distributed in 2011 happened to belong to people with multiple registration? That election of 2011 was a sham. Any election carried out with the old temporary cards like it happened in 2011 has to be a sham.

Stop speculating, you are saying it was a scam because your candidate lost. APC just wants the elections to go ahead because they think the current PVC distribution favours them.

It is not about speculating as you just insinuated. How did states in the Sout-east and South-south achieve 98% voters turn out? It has never happened like that before. That should tell you all you need to know about rigging. As Amaechi said, they delivered two million votes to Jonathan in River State through any means available but won't happen again in 2015. You and I know Jonathan couldn't have got 25 million votes in 2011 without massive rigging that happened in the East, South-south and some areas in the North.

Even in the oldest democracy on the planet (USA), the highest that ever happened was between 83-87% turn out of 2008 election.

Sire,I feel u're wrong. The problem is that PDP haven't yet perfected its rigging almighty formula using the military to facilitate access for PDP operatives and supporters, the creation of a list of APC
members to be arrested come Feb 14, and the deployment of a Special Team of military personnel to prevent APC voters from
reaching the polls, just as was done in Ekiti.

Jonathan/PDP are trying everything to see if they can steal this election, like they did the NNPC money. God forbid.

Sai Buhari all the way.

So this is why APC is so desperate to disenfranchise people of the south east and south-south? First and foremost your percentages are wrong secondly, that result is not impossible as people registered shortly before the elections and were still within the same location.

Give people their PVCs and let the voters decide.

PDP are the ruling government and would still control the army whether the elections are held on February14 or not so it is immaterial if the date are shifted. Remember the same army were in place when opposition parties won in ondo, anambra and osun states.
