So I just received this email from a reader who says she witnessed a traumatic shoot-out between political thugs this afternoon at Jakande, Lagos. There was sporadic shooting, people running for their dear lives abandoned their cars and took off on foot, parents running with their kids. I also learnt some people who were caught by the bullets died at the scene. Scary stuff! Our reader's mail is below:

Hello Laila. I am 90kg but I jumped a fence today into Femi Okunu Estate leaving my car behind. Political thugs clashed, car owners ran for thier lives. Seee gun shots flying now, happened around 2pm along Lekki Ajah. Traumatic experience. Maybe I should go to my village for the election. .com
