Please help name any good leader from the south-south or south-east of your choice to be the next president at the 2011 presidential election. I mean someone that will be generally accepted by the whole nation.

Igbos are incapable of successfully choosing a consensus candidate.

Igbo president can never solve the problem in Nigeria, our problem is not the tribe that rules but the system the president works on. Our system of governance is not workable. Until that is rectified we will remain stagnant irrespective of who the number citizen is.

Absolutely correct and thats why we either need revolution to change the whole system or we should just split Nigeria apart , mostly we westerners need to depart.

So you think we do not need to try a credible SE/SS person to rule Nigeria. Fixing or no fixing of Nigeria problem.

Maybe that is what God is waiting for because He does not like cheating.

At least the hausa/fulanni and the yorubas have lead and history is judging them today.

Naija needs a leader right now that has the same qualities like Idiagbon. That was one man that flogged naija into shape, but of course we had our elites that were not down for such shit. Whether Igbo, Efik, or a Yoruba man not named Obasanjo, they will all be specially handpicked to carry on the tradition of "Chop as you go".

Well I would pick Utomi, Ukiwe, but Nigeria would prefer Uba, Kalu, and the best of them all Iwu.

Stop dreaming an Igboman would not be president of nigeria. Even if jesus become an igboman in the politics of nigeria, an igboman would not be president. look the only way you can be president even if umaru finish is other group are not in nigeria. do the maths,  That why if your igbo senators support the move to remove the yorubas from nigeria to the republic of benin. The coast is clear for your people. Since the yorubas would not be in the picture again. THE NORTH would have no other option than give an igbo man the president.
GET THE YORUBA INTO THE REPUBLIC OF BENIN.

What makes you guys thinks that an Ibo man cannot be the president in Nigerian? Is it that they are not qualified or have no legitmate right to be the president in Nigeria. Sometime i marvel at some peoples opinion on country we said is one Nigeria.Jst imagine the concept we Nigerians go about that someone cannot be a presindent in his legitmate country jst becoz of his/her tribe. I think this has been the reasons why Nigeria will remain backward coz every little thing in the country is being tribalized. That is why i almost laughed at the guy who wanna be the next Nigerian Obama coz i wonder how that can be achieved in environment with such a mentality. The earlier we quit decieving ourselves in that nation the better for all of us. A country where everyone preach about one Nigeria but in our hearts and acts all we see is a divided nation.
Re: Igbo President - Name Your Choice by BecomeRich: 9:13pm On Jan 02, 2009
the reason i said so is the political equation does not favour them. conduct 1 million presidential election , igboman would not be president. to change the political equation get the yorubas into the republic of benin.
Re: Igbo President - Name Your Choice by scottN(m): 9:14pm On Jan 02, 2009
Forget about producing an Igbo President cos d Igbos themselves r not united and find it difficult to pick a consensus candidate even amongst themselves . Until the Igbos can unite in one voice no president will come 4rm that region and when I mean d Igbos exclude the SS.
Re: Igbo President - Name Your Choice by azorjiu(m): 9:34pm On Jan 02, 2009
Some of your contributions are horrible!

I'm Igbo but if I'm convinced an Igala man would make a better president, I would chose him in lieu of the Igbo man.
But to say an Igbo man can't be the president of nigeria is rather idiotic.

What are the pre-requisites for the position and why is it that no Igbo is qualified?

Political equation dose not favour them, lol thts really funny. Its time we start seeing a change in Nigerian beyond all these political this and political that. So you want to tell me that if An outstanding Ibo man, who have all the qualities it takes to move Nigeria foward comes out for an election, he can't be elected jst becoz the politica equation do not favour the Ibo as u said? This has been Nigerian biggest problem like i said before.

Please sir if we are still One Nigeria as we claim to be should a presidential condidate be produce by a tribe or  Is a candidate be chosen by the consensus of each tribes or the parties? You  can see the division even inside the parties.
Everyone is clapping and happy about the jst concluded US election but we should ask ourself wht tribe in America does Obama comes from to win the American president or wht was the political equation of his tribe in America.

Igbos should 4get about the presidency and concentrate on what they know how to do best: buying and selling. Leave politics for the professionals ie those who have been at it fro the better part of our post independence era.
Re: Igbo President - Name Your Choice by yarodin: 11:40pm On Jan 02, 2009
Mr Suya you are definetly right. People like Shagari, Abacha, IBB, are real professionals that is why Nigeria is such a great Nation, way advanced among her peers.

you do not know that in nigeria, it is equation. and the equation is not in igbo favour. you see if they refuse to allow the yorubas to join the republic of benin, the yorubas and hausa would continue to rotate the presidency between themself , but if you remove the yorubas the hausa can share the president with the igbo
