A heretic was a chap who came up with an interpretation of the Bible that did not accord with the way the Catholic Church taught it. (and in Protestant areas...with the way the Local Protestant denomination taught it)...especially in Europe and the European colonies of the States.

A witch was someone who used ''magic'' to effect cures, or to make people better....or to invoke misfortune against them. Witches were punished pre-Chirstianity (A pagan Roman emperor punished some witches who were involved in a plot against him). Someone has defined witches as people who used ''non Church sanctioned magic''

Either way...killing heretics was not the way of Christ...and indeed was not practiced in Christendom untill the 11th century...when the goring threat of the Islamic empire led to growing ''piety''...(which led to anti-Jewish pogroms, and a host of other anti-heretic projects).

There is a lot to be said for respecting elders.

But this article by the op is largely about elders who do not have the resources to discipline their children adequately...and who as a result of the bad behavior...rush for quick fix solutions offered by quick fix Christians.

(One thing about Christianity....it is not a religion of quick fixes.).

One thing about life... There are no quick fixes.

The elders lack common sense because of religion, nollywood, government e.t.c.
