Instead of the 28-day "Black History Month", I have personally decided that African peoples home and abroad (and non-Africans too), should devote the entire year of 2009 to studying and celebrating Black History. Therefore, I am proclaiming 2009 as "Black History Year". We will celebrate and honour our ancestors, and teach our youth about the triumphs, trials and tribulations that our people have faced over the course of time. Spread the news!
