The True Motives Of Cpc's Idea Of A Merger And The Emergence Of APC. Part 1. by PedroAmada(m): 5:27pm On Feb 14, 2015
Political parties in Nigeria do not have ideologies. Politicians have thrown away party political ideologies into the bin of oblivion and uphold pathological lies and deceptive rhetoric amidst money politics in pursuant of collective and individual INTEREST within the UMBRELLA or BROOM of political parties. The reason why our politics is characterize by vindictiveness and acrimony where In the face of irreconcilable difference and clash of personal interest, accumulated and insatiable greed where compromises are nothing but a fluting illusions, an agrief member can de camp to another party because they all are political kleptomanias in parties without ideological base and where personal interest is more important than the constitution or party's constitution or ethnic group or religion or Nigeria put together. Our politicians who are neither muslims nor christians have manipulated 'religious' poor and middle class like puppets with quotes from Bible or Quran thereby tossing our Mallam or Reverend, imam or pastor, bishop or sheik around like almajiris to do their biddings. The methods of Political thuggery and the use of uneducated foot soldiers to unleash threat and tension, to kill & steal mandate, to create nuisance & intimidate ordinary voters, destroy and battered their opponent large and expensive campaign posters, write all sort of politically motivated inscriptions on other people's and even govt properties thereby making these touts and thugs important only to develop a recalcitrant and unmanageable tendencies towards crime. . Now, President GEJ who is the C-In-C (commander in chief) of the federal republic of Nig. and his government have done little or nothing in the area of security and the fight against corruption from 2011 till date. Although, they have recorded fair achievement in the area of rail ways, which I may perceive as his most outstanding achievement considering the positive impact on the masses. (more needs to be done beside this essay it not about GEJ achievements). That aside, 2011 election has long come and gone but I may not forget the political rhythm and the antecedents which trails the pre and post electoral processes. The 2011 election was based on religious and ethnic sentiments. In the north the emergence and formation of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) was more or less a Nigerian version of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood whose followers saw PDP as a Christian party (at least this notion was/is held by many in the north). However, Nigerians came out in mass to vote for their Christian GEJ or their Muslim Buhari and we all know the post electoral violence that marred the 2011 elections after GEJ was declared the winner. Some people or groups may not vote for GEJ for reasons best known to them, some do not like GEJ more because of his ethnic affiliation and even belief rather than his failures in the areas of insecurity and the fight against corruption but hide within the camouflage of certain dysfunctional political administration. I may have seen many electorate who do not share similar belief and ethnic affiliation with the General but they are going to cast their ballot for him because they also want "change" Ironically, I am yet to find anyone in the core north that is ready to cast his vote in favor of the incumbent man from Otuake village outside his cohort and members of his party. Could their reasons be due to his failures to tackle boko haram in the N-East and Issues of corruption Or because they prefer their "own" ? Or because of the widely held believe that the General will be a better leader to tackle insecurity and corruption? Or could it be that it is the "turn" for a northerner to rule? Etc. PDP is 16 years now in the authority of powerful corruption, armed to the tooth with greed so powerful and absolutely corrupt by 16 years of power -fullness with nothing to show beyond the millions, billions and trillions that have gone missing by the disappearing acts of gross financial misappropriation. CPC was predominantly a successful northern political party which failed to triumph against the broader base PDP and hence it was vehemently rejected, disgraced and humbled by Nigerians in the electoral battle known as "karen jini birin jini" in 2011 because CPC followers saw the party as the major driving force of ethnic unity in the 19 northern states against the well established political gladiator and power drunk PDP. That is why CPC seek the partnership of ACN and co into what is called APC in other to rid it of accusations of certain ethnic and "muslim brotherhood" fundamental characteristics tendencies and camouflage itself as a broad base National party with a federal character. Inspite of such moves the party formation, followership, trust, recognition, acceptability and motives are still stained by its political original sin. ****Many Christians will be voting for GEJ because he share the same geopolitical region with them the same goes with those saying "sai Buhari" . Some muslims and Christians are still inspired by 2011 elections while some are driven by the dysfunctional realities in the areas of security and economy dynamism which has continue to unfold in our political history as a process rather than religious and ethnic politics which has continually driven us backward in all spheres. Our political morality cannot be weigh by our deeds but rather in the motive behind such deeds. I have outgrown the politics of religion and ethnicity. It is against this backdrop that I am NOT going to cast my vote on either PDP or APC because : these parties have heated the polity so much, blood have been shed so much, hate and tension has been spread so much and the sentiments of ethnic & religious projections which are hoarded in our minds have so bitterly & openly prevail on facebook, twitter, wasap, instagram, tv's radio stations, markets, places of worship and in the very little mind of our ungodly myopia. I only wish GEJ and Buhari could forfeit their political aspirations in 2015 for the sake of Nigeria, I still see the political dejavu of 2011 violence!!! Happy Valentine.
