Yes it true android phone has won the smartphone market in Nigeria and the world as a whole but I say everything with advantage also have disadvantage. Here am going to share to you the major annoying disadvantages of android phones.

Please don’t hate android freaks, am writing this in my own view and out of experience, so please don’t hate, am not trying to discredit your android phone or discredit the companies. Here are the major demerits of android phones.


· Sucks Battery: this is the number one in all demerits of android phones, no one on earth will likely want to use a phone that drains battery in everything you do with the phone; you play 3 sets of games and your battery runs from %95 to %82, this is a huge blow compared to the old nokia phones.

· Android drains data: with my findings I discovered that no other OS sucks data like android OS. Just to open some few apps and your data count would already surpass your budget

· Extremely over heats: android phone over heats as it is also the only OS that heats that much, blackberry do over heat but not compared to android, I think nokia still the best.

· Phone Hangs: android is good at lagging and continuously hanging your phone. Anything you do with phone, phone hangs; whether you are playing game, streaming online videos or browsing your phone gallery.

· Open to Virus: android paid and free apps are in google play store were android users can easily get apps downloaded to their phone. but 90% of the paid and free apps has virus and when downloaded to phone if phone not protected it may likely affect phones performance.

Everything you mentioned there has its remedy and that is the beauty of Android. Full control to fire up your device or take it slow.

You can't compare old Nokia phone with just facility for phone calls and sms to a full flagged smartphone. So Picanto uses less fuel than than Highlander, so you will go for Picanto even if the two are for free.

If you really want your android to run as Nokia old phone then root it, greenify most programs, install a firewall and grant access to only opera mini and WhatsApp, set the network mode to 2g and watch your battery last you 3 days

•Android Drains Battery : Android Os Doesn't drain battery. Your useage does. I have a phone with 2000mAh battery and I can use it heavily (Non-Stop) for 7 hours before battery gets low.. Is it now fair enough?


•Android Drains Data : that's because you're an Heavy user.. If you're a light user that only chats on BBM And Whatsapp , then 10mb Can last for over 48hours (Just chatting)


•Phone Overheats : if your phone overheats , blame it on the manufacturer , not The OS. It could be that the hardware is faulty , but the problem is definitely not from Android Os

One word for you... GET A GOOD PHONE, sorry that's not one word.
My about 18months old Note 2 with 2GB Ram, Quad-core 1.6 Ghz, and a massive 3100 mAh battery has never suffered any of the shït you mentioned. I wonder what a Note 3 or a Note 4 would feel like. As for data, SmartPhones are not for everyone. They are meant for those that want real-time updates. The data consumption among Android, Windows and iOS are kinda similar.
