The spread of light in the south south and south east is very different from the rest of the country. The rest of the country is blacked out except Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Kaduna!! And small flashes in Ibadan and Ilorin.

The lights are both Gas Flaring, City/Town lights and Industrialisation. See earlier pix of Uk Europe. Note London etc and note also the North Sea installations.
