In as much as you've got off tangent completely and there's absolutely no correlation between BAE and an individual purchasing heavy weapons on behalf of a country - I'll educate you on how the defence industry works. Especially with defence companies within a country and how they're under the government.

When(ever) the UK buys tomahawk missiles from the US - it signs the contract directly with Pentagon, not with Boeing/Raytheon which makes the missiles, or go via BAE. Ditto all the countries that purchase heavy weapons from the US.

When Saudi Arabia signed the contract for the procurement of Eurofighter Typhoons from BAE, it signed the contract directly with the MOD. Hence you see folks from the British Defence Industry travel everywhere with David Cameron whenever they want to secure defence contracts with other countries.

When Iran signed a defence contract with Russia two weeks ago to procure heavy weapons, including fighter jets from Sukhoi (Russian equivalent of BAE), and the discussion about buying the s300 missiles from GSKB (another Russian defence company). The contract was signed by Gen. Sergei Shoigu - the head of the Russian military. Ditto when Iraq signed a defence contract with Russian companies a couple of years ago.

When India landed the deal to procure Dassault Rafale from Dassault Aviation (French equivalent of BAE), the contract was signed by the French government. Ditto when Russia signed the contract for the two Mistral ships from DCNS.
