What I don't understand is how some people seriously think APC can save Nigeria. Sometimes I just imagine what would be going on in Tinubu's mind anytime he looks at Buhari..

Do you think he (Tinubu) will actually say "Yes... This is the man. please do come and save our country..." I think what he will be saying is "May we just do may d man win this election... How many years will he even stay.. Kpatakpata.. 8yrs and APC will never let go of the presidency.. 8yrs is almost impossible because ah ah... Buhari wey no remember simple Osinbajo at 72, wetin im go remember at the age of eighty, na 1 tenure im go serve and we shall take over... This will be exactly the same thought on them fashola and Amaechi minds..
Buhari can be a good man but he is not a leader. Follow this theory

'Anybody' who is given the overall power in a country can effect any change he wants so far as he/she isn't facing any opposition. By this I mean that any good man can perform marvelously well as a dictator. A 'Leader' does not need dictatorial powers to effect change

Buhari can be an emotional person who doesn't like how lots of funds are mismanaged and how lots of lives are wasted everyday by Boko-haram just like every other good Nigerian but the funny thing about democracy is that Competency is corruption ( I will explain this later)

My history book told me that immediately Idiagbon left the country for Mecca, Babangida saw the opportunity to overthrow Buhari's govt. History records this coup as the only bloodless coup in Nigerian history. This means Buhari didn't even raise a hand of resistance, He just surrendered the govt and left.. (This invariably means that he's a weak man) The underlying story was that Idiagbon was the backbone of the of the stiff nature of the govt.

Buhari succeeded as a dictator but will fail woefully as a Democrat because he really don't seem to understand how things work in a democratic system just like every other emotional Nigerian who wants to see all corrupt politicians in jail and to propel the development of this country at the highest momentum. Buhari can't even stand ordinary social media criticism not to talk more of the criticism ridden system, Democracy.

When I said competence is corruption in democracy, I mean this. Let me give an example.. If Obama wants to deploy the US troops into Syria because he's concerned about the suffering of the people at the hands of ISIS, he needs to convince the Parliament to support the act.. Here, he must have to lobby, buy opposition congressmen and soil his hands.. Initially he wanted to do good, but to do good, he has to indulge in corruption practices and this is Democracy for you!

For Jonathan to build more refineries, he has to favour the oil goons in the country so that they won't go underground to bribe legislators into opposing the bill with big big grammer (please watch a senate or house of reps seating to understand what am saying) ,this is just an example but this is democracy

The pace at which we are going now in terms of development is the pace we will continue in so far as we are practicing democracy
Except America and Britain, no other country that is great today got to those heights with democracy eg China: Communist country, Russia: Socialist country. The Americans and the British succeeded because they accepted corruption and worked with it and when a corrupt man meets another corrupt man, something good will come out of it.

GEJ, Tinubu, Fashola, Amaechi all of them knows this better than a 300L Engineering student, but they are just in the game for their own selfish reasons, the fact remains Buhari has not come to realize this and they (APC) are willing to use this advantage to hatch their plans by selling him(Buhari) to the people
People always yearn for a saviour, Buhari is not that saviour as far as we are practicing democracy, they want to opt him out because they believe he is sale worthy..

The battle is not between GEJ and Buhari, the battle is between the GEJ cabal (PDP) and the Tinubu cabal (APC), those who are on top of the Nigerian financial game and those who think they are being cheated in that game. Tinubu is not worth winning this war because they are all the same

Our Problem is not GEJ, our problem is "DEMOCRACY"

As for me and my household, we are accepting the truth that Nigeria is growing at a normal pace
We are voting for GEJ!!!

There's a lot of corruption in this Regime. And the corrupt go scott-free. I really Love Goodluck but, anyway, Let's toss a coin: If the head is up, GMB wins but if the Tail is up, GEJ will loose!

If you commend Amaechi incessant attacks on President
Jonathan, but complain about Gov. Ayo Fayose's vitiolic
punches on General Buhari.... You are a hypocrite
If you clap for Alhaji Lai Muhammed, but boo Doyin Okupe....
You need to Hypo your brain
If you believe everything you hear, read and watch on Sahara
TV/Reporters, Premium Times, but disbelieve AIT and NTA..
You thinking is stinking.
If you trust Ekiti Audio Tape that indicted Senator Obanikoro,
but don't believe the AIT Asiwaju Tinubu's Documentary...
Please, accept my heartily "Waaaka''
It is not in GEJ's admin that Idris Abdulkareem sang ''Nigeria
Jaga Jaga'' oh.
It is not in GEJ's admin that Africa China sang '' Our
government baaado'', Food no dey''
We need prayers, not players.
100 LIKE FOR GEJ!!!!oh yes!

OP; nice write up , I took my time to reaad; but perhaps u are youung and forgot something that transpired in d early phase of our democracy... IBB supported OBJ so much for his election in 99, after he came out of prison; when it was rumuored he had just 20.000(twenty thousand) in his acct. After all d support; oBJ went there; and piloted d affairs of d nation d way he choose, and became his own man; IBB was so relegated to d background; dat he didn't even find it easy visiting asokoro...
What I'm trying to pass accross; is , donot ever assume buhari to be aa weakling(he's a soldier remember) ; he knows what his going there for, he's prepared for the job; unlike the jonathan dat got it by sheer providence and was never reaady for d Job...
And BTW; who says if buhari messes up after 4yrs we cannot throw him to the bin; as we will do to jonathan.. My vote goes for buhari, for only 1 reason , and that is to proof to d politicians the people own the power, we install who we think is right... Donot forget the successful campaign against boko haram started when jonathan saw d seeming defeat from the strong opposition; dat was when he saw d need to visit the troops and other playing to d gallery gestures; that is what true democracy brings...
What tends to annoy me is my fellow country men donot see d big picture in this; the shallow and myopic line of thoughts meks me puke... Its annoin. I want a better nigeriaa for my children , and that can only happen wen we mek this heartless politicians understand that, our collective interest should first prevail, or else they kis dat seat goodbye... Thank ou.

I have never seen a more irresponsible write up unashamedly glorifying corruption while excusing impunity. How dare you say when two corrupt men meet, something good comes out of it? And labeling people concerned about government stealing and failure to protect lives and property as emotional people? What finally convinced me that this article is the product of a corrupt and perverted mind, was the illogical claim that the U.S and Britain attained success because they embraced corruption. Really?

While I'm unable to do a complete analysis immediately, I will surely do so if this thread gains any reasonable traction.

Instead of changing my mind, this article makes me sad for the conscience of the Nigerian youth, the biggest victim of Jonathan's corruption and failure.

Whether you want to accept this logic or not, fact still remains that APC is in no way better than PDP, they are the same people..
In the area of glorifying corruption, I'll explain my stance explicitly if the thread gains traction (as you put it).

I really understand you.. but the fact still remains that it's still the your emotions that are reasoning. I would like to become the president of Nigeria tomorrow, I would like to even assassinate every corrupt politician in this country because I can't just imagine how people can be so heartless to loot public fund with impunity, I would like to develop this country infrastructure wise and I would love to see food on every Nigerian family's table. I would even want to restructure the Education system of this country because we are just deceiving ourselves in that aspect..

See....! My emotions are speaking for me, my leadership mind is not yet in action, it will work when I start reasoning how to prepare a very good manifesto that can captivate people's minds, when I start thinking of the best political party to join to gain an upper hand, when I start to think of how to gather support by befriending the political goons in the country.
By this..., I must have to soil my hands because I can't convince everybody with my words of hope.
My problem with APC is that they think us to be fools. APC as a party is filled to the brim with the most corrupt people in Nigerian history yet they want us to believe that they changed overnight.
My joining the GEJ camp is just as a result of "No other better option" Buhari is a good man but in Nigeria, as of this moment, He has no chance.. GEJ is an utter failure I know but Buhari is not a better option
Besides, Buhari is not that healthy (please don't get me wrong), If by chance, Buhari dies in office, CLICK!!! Tinubu will win and He would have played his game so well..
APC is promising so many outrageous things, PDP is showing us what they did.. (As least the pictures of the trains am seeing are not imaginary). We are no fool and don't say we settle for mediocrity, we are just being reasonable

Sensible post.

So because you're scared Buhari doesn't know how to rule a democracy, Nigeria should continue with Doomluck ?
That is a weak argument or mischief at its best.

God help Buhari, if he can't find his feet as President. We will vote him out after 4 years or truncate his tenure earlier, just aa GEJ deserves to leave yesterday. Nigerians should learn to rule take charge of their leadership and hold them to account. You the people are the democracy not your leaders.

From the little I've seen online, it is immaturity, sentiment and tribalism alone that would garner votes for GEJ .

Should Gej win, no problem. I can never partake of the resulting disaster that will befall most Gej supporters in his second term.
