Late Prince Generalissimo Ogunbona Agboketoyinbo who was the Balogun of Ikija between 1830- 1861 has been honoured by the Alake and Paramount ruler of
Egbaland, HRM (Dr) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo at his family house in Ikija, Abeokuta today as the hero of the year for the 2015 edition of the Lisabi festival.

Incontestably, a warrior to reckon with in the early existence of the Egba kingdom, the ‘Generalissimo’ was recognized for his “bravery and sagacity in the warfront.”

He was also noted for his immense contributions to the economic development and growth of the Egba nation.

Interestingly, the late warlord had twenty six wives, all blessed with children.

His elegant but slightly flamboyant lifestyle warranted the name “AGBOKETOYINBO”, meaning one who lives elegantly like the whites.

Ogunbona, in company of Sodeke, Lunloye and Atambala, all frontline Egba leaders, was instrumental in helping Egba move from their initial homestead to Abeokuta.

His legacy of selfless service to humanity, patriotism and tolerance in the face of provocation has helped his legendary status in the Egba kingdom.

He was a prince, a warlord and warrior to reckon with, had a hive of 26 women to choose from when it came to warming his loins day and night without bickering, jealousy, or argument between them - and still was able to maintain a flamboyant lifestyle. . .

Oh well, I don't know about y'all, but this Prince Generalissimo Ogunbona Agboketoyinbo is/was definitely a hero and a model for true Africannism.

Every mother's son what calls himself an African should look up to him - the happiest and most influential men of African Origin in the world are/were either polygamous or have/had side-chicks, fact!

Even Barack Obama has a side-chick, true story.

Advise? You make mockery of our African heritage MizMyColi.

Africannism isn't an advice, it is an essence. . . a way of life, regardless of the time and age.

I respect you and you know it. But lemee trrry and debate with you. Please excuse me if I sound attitude-ish.grin

Speaking of African heritage, would you agree with me we're not true to this heritage of ours?

We might as well go back to wearing advanced palmfronds and serving Sango & Sopona. That's our essencial heritage too.grin

Perchance we only remember our "heritage" when we need it to serve a purpose (selfless or selfish) or to hype/inflate our egos?

Lol.. have you seen what the chics are wearing these days in the name of fashion?
If that's not wearing advanced palmfronds (your words), I don't know what it is grin

As for serving Sango, I'm sure not everyone is a Christian - they may not be serving Sango, but they definitely serving something that's not the Christian God. . . their money, jobs, etc.

I sensed no attitude BTW cheesy

Polygamous men often have regrets at the end of the day. Do not be deceived by the happy fronts they put up... Polygamy to me is a big No!

Then as for Barack Obama having a side chick, hmmmmm - Lmao - quote your source oh....so hilarious

Exactly, how do you determine a serious post or a non-serious one based on Smileys?

I could be serious and use them or not be serious and not use them.

I'm an empath.
The implication is that I know and feel things in my gut.

I am not always right but I mostly am.

Because writing is the best form of expressing myself. It is easier to phool me in person, than in written words. Emoji or not.

Concerning the first post you made on this thread.....something was off. Without the emojis I knew that wasn't you.....
But I kinda indulged because I wanted to be sure.

In fact, I have observed that most of us who use emojis are actually expressing the opposite in reality.
It's all make-believe.

Lol @bold text.

What's the difference between being an empath and being emphatic? It's an honest question, I could Google it for clarity but I don't want to.

Emphatic is used in the context of emphasizing something or stressing a set of words.

An empath is said to be empathetic when they display above average psychic abilities.....being presently present in the pains and joys of other people like it were a personal experience.

When you say polygamy is not good, you must realize you fail to take into account the good and/successful ones. . . Yes, there are those.

Obama has a side-chick, trust me.
