Customer Needs Feedback Concerning New GTB Western Union Transaction Method by Conner44: 10:37am On Mar 23, 2015
I had a transaction to do at GTB today and I was told that you can only receive western union transfers directly into your bank account via the use of their token and online banking, this wasn't how I thought it would be.

I have a friend who said he paid for and got his token but still couldn't process western union transactions using it, since then I've been skeptical.

Please has anyone used this method successfully before? GTB customers please comment before I waste money ordering their token. Thanks

There was another thread few days ago wherein someone asked same question but one of the responses confirmed this new means of collection. I also know you can receive your Western Union online through Quickteller.com into your Nigerian bank account. So if you don't want to go through the GTB internet banking process (which is the main reason for requiring hardware token device), then try other banks that may not need token. By the way, kindly help me confirm if the Western Union can be received into a domiciliary account or is it just into Naira bank account.

Thanks for the info. I also wanted to know if it's true that if I use a savings account with GTB then the sender should also convert the money into naira before sending it to me here in Nigeria.

If it's sent in dollars can I convert it here on their online portal before it gets into my account?
