Pope Francis is a citizen of the world...and the world is a global village.

Pope Francis is also the leader of the Church that has given so much in charity to millions of Nigerians who have been disenfranchised in a poorly managed economy.

So he has every right to talk about the Nigerian economy.

I beg to differ Sir.

It is never a good idea, when 'the church' dabbles into issues of state (politics and economy), as their actions may be misconstrued as supportive of one party and critical of another. Take the likes of Ayo Oritsejafor and David Oyedepo for example.

Men of God should learn to focus on their calling (spreading the Gospel and providing spiritual guidance to people) and leave secular issues for others.

Who are you to tell a 2000 year old Church what it can and cannot 'dabble into?'

Providing for citizens is also an issue of state. Has the Church been doing wrong by dabbling into this area for 2000 years?

Did the Church do bad when it 'dabbled into state issues' by invented the modern university system, hospices etc?

Forget about those men. I call them business men, not men of God.

Again, who are you to decide what a man of God should or shouldn't do? Is it written anywhere in the Constitution or in the Bible that a man of God should never talk about politics or economy? Please show me where. Or is it only written in your imagination?

So once a citizen goes to the seminary and becomes a priest, he ceases to be a Nigerian. He can no longer talk about his country's affairs.

Can priests also vote or should they just focus on the gospel?
