Hello starcomms blocked my line my 1x landline fone today saying because of fraudulent activities why now , i m not happy can you imagine i just regsitered for internet just one week ago and i have not used it for two weeks, what sould i do

starcomms are dem THIEF i also encounter the problem.
i connected 10 days ago. av been to there office today but they directed me to their office at V.I before my problem can be solved.

it happened to me about 3 months ago.when i called customer care,i was told my aircard was blocked because it was suspected of fraudulent activities.the idiot told me that it was irreversible and i told him to go to hell.\

i went to V.I the next day where i met with a very nice lady,a Mrs Saliu i think who told a type 3 error was observed on my I.P address.she further explained that a 3rd party had reported my I.P address to the network for illegally downloading movies.honestly,i had just delved into this stuff the day my card was blocked.i only used to download softwares and music files.after explaining to the woman,i was told to write an application for unblocking and include my particulars i.e id card,receipt of purchase and utility bill after which the line will be unblocked after 72 hours.i asked for the source of the compliant and i was told the information would be conveyed to me after my apllication has been treated.

after 3days,my line was unblocked and the source of compliant was from PARAMOUNT PICTURES.

i advise you to go down to V.I and apply for such,except you actually commited a type 1 offence,internet scamming of which i suggest you should lay down cause they now report offenders to EFCC.

they did not even tell me wat for they say fraudulent activities and i have not scammed any one oooo or even used it to browse enuff since 11 days i bought it, well dem go dey loose customer ok , na dem sabi,

Bros, na the same thing come happen to me. Any use of p2p programs like bearshare, azureus, kazaa, etc, are all monitored by starcomms and can be traced back to your card. The only thing you can do is to get a good (original paid) internet security like Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and a program called Anonymizer. Anything that you can use to hide ur ip or use vpn tunneling for all ur data. If not, starcomms go ban u.
