How Much Inec Really Want To Pay Corps For This Election by babtunns(m): 8:58pm On Apr 02, 2015 |
OPEN LETTER BY CORPS MEMBERS TO INECWith due honor and respect, corps members across the country request the intervention of INEC national chairman, Professor Attahiru Muhammadu Jega, on non payment of corps members for election as INEC Ad hoc staffs.Sir, corps members from different states across Nigeria wish to inform you of non payment of our stipends as INEC Ad hoc staffs. Corps members across the country received different amounts as stipend which has been causing so much confusion. We think all corps members are supposed to be paid the same amount as stipend and at the same time but the reverse is the case. Training allowance is to be paid at the conclusion of the training but it is so unfortunate that some corps members in some states across the country have not been paid their training allowance. Some were paid for the first training alone, some were paid just 4,000 instead of 4,500for the first training and all sorts of things. [4/2, 3:07 PM] +234 816 339 5905: To make this clear to you sir, we give these states as examples with the amount they have received since the first day of their INEC training till date;Abia state: some corps members in this state have received N4,500 + N3,000 + N4,000 making a total of 11,500 while some have just received N4,500 for the first training alone.Abuja (FCT): some corps members in the federal capital territory have been paid N4,500 as the firsttraining allowance while some have not received anything at all.Cross River state: some corps members received N4,395 as the first training allowance while somehave not received anything at all.Delta State: Corps members in this state have not received anything at all even the training allowance.Ebonyi state: some corps members have received N4,500 + N13,000 making N17,500 while some have just received N4,500 for the first training alone.Kogi state: some corps members in this state have received N9,000 while some have received nothing.Lagos state: corps members in this state have notreceived any allowance at all.Ondo state: Some corps members in this state have received N4,500 as their first training allowance while some have not received anything at all.Having gone through all these sir, we think you understand much. Why the allowance being paid does varies with states. Some states INEC officials were just trying to embezzle the money or doing business with the money. All Corps members supposed to have received N7,500 as the training fee and half of the money for the election by now as promised but it is unfortunate that this is not the case.We have obeyed the clarion call as NYSC anthem says by submitting and surrendering ourselves topartake in the election and to have gone through such stress so as to make sure the elections were free and fair. All corps members across the country hereby seek for your intervention in urging the concernedpeople to pay all the corps members our full training allowance of N7,500 and the remaining allowances we are entitled to be paid.We shall be very grateful if this application is urgently and favorably considered.Thanks.ALL CORPS MEMBERS |
