Today, i want to introduce you to one of the latest technology in town - Illume ArcLighter. ArcLighter is a rechargeable lighter that uses electricity instead of fire to ignite, it is flameless and it uses a lithium - ion battery.
Unlike ordinary lighter that uses flame, arclighter works by producing an high intensity electric arc between two ceramic electrodes. Because there is no flame, the ArcLighter can be used upside down without the fear of your finger tips and knuckles burning as it is seen in ordinary lighter. For example, when lighting candles inside a deep jar.

WORKING PRINCIPLE OF ARCLIGHTER
When you press the power button, an electric currents jump between the two ceramic electrodes which causes the air between these conducting electrodes to ionized and in turn create an electric arc producing high intensity heat that can light anything that passes through it or anything it passes through. Illume arclighter can be use to light Gas stoves, candles, paper, incense e.t.c. Just press, point and light.

CHARGING ILLUME ARCLIGHTER
ArcLighter comes with a dedicated USB powered charging dock, place the lighter into the dock and you should see the yellow/red light above the power button turns light green after blinking three times.

For making this project becoming reality, the company behind Illume arclighter launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $45,000 which they have already pass, though there are still some days left in the campaign. Which means you can still participate in the campaign and get the lighter for about $40. Illume ArcLighter expects to ship around November.
