How To Stop Automatic Touches On Screens Of Your Android Phones And Tablet by StevinMorgan(m): 5:22pm On Apr 05, 2015
Recently my android phone almost gave me a headache. The screen of my android phone kept jerking and there were automatic touches even without me doing anything.

When this happens, these automatic touches will keep automatically opening and closing applications without my consent. I tried placing the phone on the table but still this scenario continued. I was so sad because I could do nothing on the phone. This behavior was quite frequent on hot days and less frequent in cold days. I did a little consultation and discovered that most of my peers too had this problem of automatic screen touches and automatic opening of apps. A majority of them said it happens more often when their hands are somehow sweaty due to jelly or oil applied to their hands.

I tried;

1.restarting my garget
2.disabling automatic screen rotation
3.disabled a few options in the developer options excluding 'Force Hardware Rendering'
4.factory resetting the phone
5.even wiped all data in Reboot mode

When I attempted the above, in some occasions the automatic touches stops a little but it then came back after a few days.
Solutions,

I did my research further and found out the solution to this maddness in android phones and tablets. I found out that this problem may be due to two causes and hence therefore I will share with you both the two solutions to help you stop jerking and automatic touches on screens of your android phones and tablet.

1.In my case, I discovered that the automatic touches on the screen of my android phone was mainly caused by some static electricity or oil on my screen which was making it to 'think' and act like I am touching it. This is what caused the automatic touches and automatic opening and classing of apps on my phone. To solve this problem, try giving the phone a good wipe with a slightly wet clothe to get rid of the oil, wash your hands well enough and dry them and try maintaining them clean, dry and free from oil. Also if you have been using electronics such as computers and laptops or even tablets, you should earth yourself by touching a metal in contact with the ground or metal water pipes with one hand. This will get rid of the static electric charges in your body. Remember to do this regularly depending on how long and regularly you are exposed to the charges from the electronics you use.

2.In another case however, the jerking and automatic touches on screens of your android phones and tablet may be due to manufacturing defect in the tourch screen of your android phone or tablet. Faulty touch screens are common with android phones and tablets. To detect this, you can enable 'Show touches' or 'Visible touches'in the developer options in the settinngs menu. This will enable you to see where the touches appear and this will prove your screen is defective. Alternatively you can install the paint program from google play store and run it on your android phone or tablet. Let the progam run and all the automatic and false touches will be painted on the screen. With this you can see where the touches are happening and maybe you mcan notice a pattern such as all being in one strip of the screen or all appearing at one point of the screen. This will confirm to you that there are faults in your touch screen. In this case, make use of your warranty, return your tablet or android phone to your dealer for replacement.

Thanks.

What u guyz are saying is true . But I have a perfect , funny , unbelievable ,working and true solution of ghost touches on ur smart phone. Pls note that is note a joke .it has worked for my BB and tecno .if ur fone start exhibiting ghost touches . Wipe ur screen ,with a soft cloth ,lock ur screen and put it in ur fridge .(funny right?) for up to 60seconds . Then remove and wipe off moisture then unlock ur screen. This is not a permanent solution . but its helpful wen doing something important. Ur ghost touch might come back wen ur phone heats up again . If. This helped u pls testify.

Hi joenor,

This may not help much but it may help to find the cause of erroneous touch screen response.

If I'm not wrong, your VK world phone uses Android Lollipop. I'm using KitKat 4.4.2 so it maybe different. In anycase you need to find "Show touches" option. In KitKat, this can be found in Setting-> Developer Options. Scroll down and you will find "Show touches". Just check the box next to it.

Now you can touch any part of the touch screen and see if it registers correct touch location.

you can check the following:

Did you (before the problem first appeared) ever:
(1). Connect a power bank to the phone and hold both together in your hand as you walked.
(2). Use your phone in wet conditions like in the rain or with wet hands.
(3). Place your phone in a tight bag with hard objects without some sort of protection such as phone casing.

If you answered yes to any of it, some damage related to screen sensor may have happened.

You may try the following advices, but avoid risky methods that may ruin your phone. Use warranty if it is still valid. Some are software-related but most are unfortunately hardware problems, where screen replacement is necessary.

It is not possible to stop touch in your phone. If you have any keypad with your touch than it is possible to stop your touch for sometime. For this you need to press sound raise button and home page button at one time. Follow onscreen instructions now.

Thanks.

My phone screen twitching was the worst I had encounter. I couldn't even do anything with the screen. And my screen had never fallen talkless of having a crack for it to misbehave the way it did.

In my own case I discovered the twitching was caused by an app I installed. I was about to return the phone back to the dealer when I decided to launch my phone in "safe mode" and uninstalled all recent apps. After restarting, the phone became normal; no twitching till date.

Thank you! I had a phantom touch issue on the top right of the screen. When I used the touchscreen test to see what was going on, they were all in a straight line vertically only about a centimeter down the screen, so only one column of the matrix was having the issue. I used the partial screen app as soon as I started seeing it again and it has thus resolved the problem. Because it was in such a small area, I haven't had any issues since working with that area on my screen even with those few areas being disabled. Fantastic work around and thank you again! It was becoming very very annoying!

Nice DIY post @OP. Though I must say that if you are using a smartphone with curved edges, specifically Samsung flagships which are notorious for inaccurate palm rejection algorithms, then I sincerely doubt these tips might help.
Curved-edge (and waterfall) display phones, man I love 'em wink. They're damn stunning in pictures and even more stunning in person. But without great palm rejection (like Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo flagships), oops. And if you hate glare and are nitpicky about absolute color accuracy, then maybe you should stay away...

There are lots of Android phone users who have noticed automatic touches on their Android screen. This is also famous as “Ghost Touch” issue on their device. This is where users gets shocked for sometimes that who is tapping or touching the screen without manual action.
However, the issue is not a new thing for users but most users see it for the first time. There is no need to panic as lots of manual ways are available that will help you to fix ghost touch issue on Android phone.
Here are some manual methods to try:
• Restart your Android phone
• Disconnect the charging cable
• Use a high quality charger
• Check your charger
• Clean the display
• Remove screen protector and case
• Factory reset your Android phone
I hope following these methods will help you to get rid of ghost touch on Android phone.
