I was born in Lagos and have lived in Lagos for several years .

I know a Lagos where people do not care about your tribe and race, where opportunities abound for everyone irrespective of your tribe race and religion. Anyone can dare to struggle and succeed in Lagos. In Lagos civil service we have people from all parts of Nigeria.

All Nigerian tribes and states are represented in Lagos size-ably and they live without fear and call Lagos their home. This should be a uniting factor and should bind us together the more.. not divide us.

I have watched with surprise and disdain how the events of the last few days heightened by the statements made by the Oba of Lagos has spiraled out of control setting one tribe after the other, redefining who falls within the circle of Lagosians or not ....who owns the land and who has rights to the land!!!

While i hold my own opinion in this saga....I am quite ashamed the bashing and counter bashing by blind people (across social strata) who do not see that the politicians are all behind this. They have succeeded in bringing religion and tribe into Lagos politics only because of their selfish gains.

Our Nigerian politicians are hopelessly greedy and self centred; why would we break the bond of love that binds us as residents of this great state and create divisions.

I urge all the people who are inflamed and have built passion over the matter to please redirect the anger to politicians .

Politics of tribe and religion is a tool by politicians beware and don't allow them to use you.
