Thanks a lot, I had to mail vfs today again and they said it's the same study permit form my husband filled I will fill for her but I will leave all the portions they ask for school details blank. Even though I was told she wouldn't need a schedule one form since she is 5, I intend to fill it all the same plus the study permit form and take when I am submitting. I guess they will let me know which one to drop on the D-day.

1. I'm not sure there is any document titled 'Open Work Permit'. What i know is that people apply for Visit Visa for their underage kids.

2. He can scan and email all original documents to you and you print out.

*You will just need to print his supporting documents and the letters should be signed by whoever is writing it.

Hello All. Please for those who applied using paper route, apart from vfs website, how else can you track ur application. Does linking it to an online account work. vfs website keeps telling me under processing...

Does anyone know why it takes 5 weeks to process Ghana applications and 28 weeks to process Nigerian applications? Especially since it is the same centre?
Not trying to be an alarmist, but then can anyone actually contact them to find out why? Have not gotten a response from the site yet

I am not sure that all online SOWP applications are processed in Ghana, I know when my spouse applied the confirmation message said "...your application is being processed in the Lagos centre....." it had the CALA... tracking id. I do not understand the HUGE processing time difference as well, Perhaps they have way too many applications from Nigeria relative to Ghana? It is quite frustrating but then what can we do but wait and hope for the best?

I checked. All work permits are processed in Ghana. That is what their website states. But then it means people should get an address in Ghana and process their visas there.

Processing time is currently 26 weeks, so you are almost there. Hopefully, you get a response in February.

I was finally delayed today reason is that my spouse doesn't have employment in NOC a o c that's the only reason, but I just got my American visit visa on Monday so what should be the next line of action

Sorry about the delay and congratulations on your US visa. You have three options now? One is to reapply via paper route again to try your luck...you can also wait till your spouse get job in the listed occupation. Thirdly, you can travel to the US and apply for visitor's visa to visit your spouse.

I heard it's also faster applying from the US

So sorry about your delay. The bright side is that you can still visit if you apply as a visitor from the US since it is faster or like others have said reapply via paper when your spouse gets a job which is way faster than online, good luck!.


I see you applied in August, did you do upfront medicals?

So what happened to the remaining June and the July applications? I can see from the timeline that Eneyedan applied in August, nawa ooo.

It does not apply to you if you are still a student. It applies to PGWP holders

@eneyedan you could still apply for your spouse, but not using spouse open work permit because u are still a student.

she has graduated she just got her pgwp and can't work cos she is on maternity leave

My people, looks like paper route is slowing down. My app is now 1 month and 1 day old, applied Dec. 29. Those who applied early December and earlier got medical email in 2 to 3 weeks. I don't know what's happening... Anybody with a clue?

My wife just called me from Nigeria this morning to inform me her passport has been requested. She will submit it 2moro.
More than 7 months wait though. I can't wait to have my family with me here in the summer.
Hopefuls, keep the faith, yours is next.
