Hello Nairalanders, there's a guy on here who is a Nairalander, he said he sells data "SME" I saw his advert on a thread and decided to try the SME for the first time since I have been seeing comments from some Nairalanders that it is safe to buy from the people that sell on here.


At about 6pm today I told the guy that I would like to buy 1GB of Etisalat data and I was told that would cost 1,000 mtn airtime of which I did immediately. The next thing I noticed was that he stopped replying my chats on whatsapp I called his number, he said he got the card and he cut me off immediately. Then when I started sending him messages that I need my data urgently, the guy blocked me on whatsapp and didn't pick up my calls anymore.

I'm not happy with this kind of experience, being the first time I tried patronizing a Nairalander, I thought we are families on here, this is really bad. I have attached a sceeenshot of his ad he posts on threads here, but I was unlucky I missed his moniker. His phone number is 08167015961. He also has a blog www. and I think his name is Babatunde Afolayan.

If anyone can recognize the ad he puts on here, please I would like his moniker to be banned, mods pls.

Wow! I thought I was the only one ooo, I'm sure all the SME sellers on here are all scammers. The mistake I made was I didn't talk to him on the phone 1st before sending him the airtime cos I had the feeling that he is a con man immediately I heard his voice but that was when I wanted to confirm if he has gotten the airtime, too late. He got me.

He also use speedway and pacesetter communication in addition to naijacamp. He opened many NL account and appear to be one of pdp eRat on political section before the election. He use about 3 bbm pin and phone numbers. We needto track him down, he is a harden criminal.

same here. he scammed me and stopped picking my valls. as a reseller,i have to use my money for my customers data. please this should go to front page to avoid more scams.

why would you say that na awoof na h hin dey turn belle... Genuine resellers are here marcjoe, wolexy, Octavo, and Lugard... Next time check someone's profile and see that he's active on nairaland not for 1day. Don't fall for cheap things bro else...

Hello Djhypno, sorry about your experience bro. It happens in all spheres of life. Seems like you didn't investigate well before giving him a try.
There are many genuine data resellers here on Nairaland.
You can still search for some. I myself sell too. Take care.

Hey bro, you don't need to be. Its rather unfortunate he was scammed.
Such things occur everywhere even on Facebook. Cynthia Osokogu was gang raped and killed through facebook. The same facebook contributed 30 percent to my gaining admission those days cos of the type of persons I was able to meet there.
There are many good resellers here. In fact I myself deal on Etisalat only but have bought MTN data for my customers from data resellers met here on Nairaland.

Before you buy data from a reseller, dont buy because his prices are cheap but try to read other customers comments. That is the easiest way to know genuine sellers

Lol bro, he is an omo ale jati jati, omo abi pabe. I think he is married gan sef, cos when I called, it was like he lives in a village, kids were crying at the background and one lady was saying "Wa n bii, WA je biscuitii, ma pariwo Si wa leti ninu Ile". His English gan was terrible, but he got me sha, haha haha haha hahaha.
