I have come to realise that app do expire almost everyday. when you update you are actually downloading a fresh copy.

assuming the app is 40mb of size. and the developer modify the app to add new features and remove or clean some bugs. and the new updated app is now 43mb of size.

the former which is 40mb is now useless when you update you are actually removing the 40mb old and downloading a fresh 43mb.

there are over 19 expired app on my phone currently at about 500mb of size.

to be frank half of them was download a week ago.

in the voice of one american guy. what are they updating everyday? they should stop updating my system.

well update is actually important it might be a virus threat or venerability of high risk. the issue here is you can minimize the app you keep. for example look at you r phone you will see that there are some app you have not touched for the past month absolutely not needed but you just refuse to let it go.

too much app reduce phone life span and as well as killing the battery life circle.

it reduce performance of your system. best performance of phone is when the ram usage is below 45%. system with few app live longer in terms of everything.

I have come to also realised that app mostly are duplicate. almost all app has same function or the function is already in your system default.

android for example update it os every time. and on every version so many things are been fixed in each version you really don't know about. thereby making it perform optimally those function most of the app does.

True talk. Apps should be carefully selected and monitored, especially on android platform.

My Android is on manual update. I update it only when I see a significant new features.
Not to introduce a new language support and ask me to update a 40mb app.

Just occupying phone memory.

I disagree with u OP tho not totally.... Wen there is a new update for apps. Eg say Whatsapp. The previous size could be 12mb and the new update says 15mb,the old whatsapp of 12mb is not totally removed, ita just updated to include the contents of the 15mb. Its totally different if u are installing afresh. It u want to really check how the update works, while updating an app and u are seeing it on Play Store as it moves in percent, draw your notification panel down, the percentage it moves differs from the Play Store percentage.
Infat most times, from play store an app wont go more than 10 1 percent before u see updating.

However some apps do total overhauling of previous versions, especially if u are updating an App formerly on say KikKat OS to Lollipop OS..
