God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night.◄Genesis 1:16 ►
But in those days, after that tribulation, THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHTMark 13:24

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies.Isnot this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

Whenever I wake up, all I see is sun and moon orbiting a static earth (geocentricism). They both have different orbital diameter. The sun appears in the morning and as its about to leave, the moon appears. This view solves all mysteries, but a lot of problems arise with heliocentricity. If the sun is static and earth orbiting, why am I not feeling the rotation (why is everything just perfect). If the sun is very large and static, how is it possible to see the sun above me? Why has the mecury not collapsed? How is it possible to throw a projectile on a moving earth? Why cant a plane stay in space and wait for the earth to move to its desired location? How is a jet able to land on a fast moving earth? Since the sun is static and very large, why is it that the moon doesn't come between the earth and sun everyday? Why is it that the moön does not lose its light everyday, since it will rotate at sometime and fall behind the earth? Tell me I wish to know. @ jonydon22

After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree.

It’s because Earth spins steadily and moves at a constant rate in orbit around the sun carrying you as a passenger right along with it.

Think about riding in a car or flying in a plane. As long as the ride is going smoothly, you can almost convince yourself you’re not moving.

NSWE? “(God is) the one Who created the night, the day, the sun and the moon. Each one is travelling in an orbit with its own motion”(Sura 21: 33).
I find it rather obvious from what this passage depicts that the day and night depends upon the orbit of the sun and moon. In other words, contrary to what Muslim apologists exclaim about the sun's galactic orbit, the passage appears rather to describe the sun and the moon in parallel orbits.
It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law)(Sura 36: 40).

Hmmm... I find it extremely bizarre that someone who struggles to understand basic physical geography(and physics) still argues and asserts with great confidence on other relatively more complex scientific fields like cosmology, theoretical and quantum physics, genetics, anthropology, geology etc, to name a few.

I'm sure Johnydon22 or Pr0ton will address your questions decently in no time so there's no need for me to respond but I will like to point out that asking questions like this in forums(religious section for that matter) is really not a great way to learn. You've got the internet, wikipedia is never a bad place to start.

Imagine you are in a steadily moving bus. Imagine there is a cup and a jug of water. Imagine pouring the water into the cup, would the water fly to the back of the bus or perfectly into the cup? The latter is the answer because both the cup, water, jug and bus are in a constant steady motion. Same applies to us and the movement of the earth. We do not feel it because we are all moving together in a constant STEADY motion.

If the sun is very large and static, how is it possible to see the sun above me?

It happens as a result of the rotation of the earth. It moves in different directions seeming to make the sun either above or below.

Why has the mecury not collapsed?

It can't collapse is why. The sun isn't that powerful to do so.

How is it possible to throw a projectile on a moving earth? Why cant a plane stay in space and wait for the earth to move to its desired location? How is a jet able to land on a fast moving earth? The gravitation of the earth keeps the object thrown and the flying plane in check. It draws them towards the centre of the earth. Only if the plane can conquer gravity and reach the escape velocity could it escape into space.

Gonna try answer the rest soon. I'm running on a low battery here.

TO OTHER HALF OF THE EARTH

Imagine you are in a steadily moving bus. Imagine there is a cup and a jug of water. Imagine pouring the water into the cup, would the water fly to the back of the bus or perfectly into the cup? The latter is the answer because both the cup, water, jug and bus are in a constant steady motion. Same applies to us and the movement of the earth. I KNOW ABOUT THIS EXPLANATION, ITS MENTAL DELUSION.

It happens as a result of the rotation of the earth. It moves in different directions seeming to make the sun either above or below.

I AM TALKING ABOUT SUN WHICH IS BILLIONS OF KILOMETERS AWAY ABOVE MY HEAD

It can't collapse is why. The sun isn't that powerful to do so.

THE SAME SUN ABLE TO HOLD JUPITER AND PLUTO?

The gravitation of the earth keeps the object thrown and the flying plane in check. It draws them towards the centre of the earth. Only if the plane can conquer gravity and reach the escape velocity could it escape into space.

Good, i like the way you cling to geocentricism as stipulated by the bible, hold on to it tightly...grin

Misogynist2014:

If the sun is static and earth orbiting, why am I not feeling the rotation (why is everything just perfect).
Because you are inside it and moving along with it at a uniform speed. . . Have you ever being on a plane before? even a car induces this same feel. . . You are inside of the earth moving with it at a uniformed speed.

Misogynist2014:

If the sun is very large and static, how is it possible to see the sun above me?
Simple, bring a pointed touch light, and a piece of paper during the night, shine the light on the paper and look at it the other side of the paper. . if you tell why you see the light (round) at the other part of the paper, then you will know exactly why you see the sun .. smiley

Misogynist2014:

Why has the mecury not collapsed?
Same reason earth has not collapsed, held together by the gravity of the sun.

Misogynist2014:

How is it possible to throw a projectile on a moving earth?
The same way it is possible to throw one from the back seat of a moving car to the front or in a plane.

Misogynist2014:

Why cant a plane stay in space and wait for the earth to move to its desired location?
Same way you cannot stay in the back seat of a moving car and wait for the car to move you to the front seat.. uniformed speed.

Misogynist2014:

How is a jet able to land on a fast moving earth?
Same uniformed speed is still in action.wink and a jet exerts an external force of energy working against gravity to ensure a stationary jet. . .

a= -[(v-u)/t]
a=acceleration, v=final speed, u=initial speed, t=time

Misogynist2014:

Since the sun is static and very large, why is it that the moon doesn't come between the earth and sun everyday?
the earth has its orbit around the sun while the moon's orbit is around the earth. . the moon's orbit is 5.145° to the ecliptic, giving it a clear different angle from the earth's which is at 0.00005 deg to J2000 ecliptic. . . it takes a large amount of time for the moon to get to a focal point able to block sun beam to the earth directly at that focal point. .that's why eclipse don't happen everyday and when they do, just a small part of the earth witness a total eclipse.

Misogynist2014:

Why is it that the moön does not lose its light everyday, since it will rotate at sometime and fall behind the earth?
Am guessing in your own part of the earth you see the moon every day undecided

Misogynist2014:

Now for moi own questions.

1) If the earth is stationary, why do we have different time zones?
2)why do we have different seasons at different times of the year?
3)why dont we see the moon everyday like we see the sun?
4)Why do we ever have eclipse at all?
5)why do we have cloud movement?
6)why do we have ocean tides?
7) Since the sun is a small light going around the earth, which gravity holds the earth in space?

@ johnydon22
-I can use the Bible to preach heliocentric and geocentric model. Therefore like I said, Bible is not involved in this argument.
- Let's leave the reason we aren't feeling rotation.
- Yes, I can see the light, but there will be on the torch a point where the light will have the highest intensity, indicating the source of light.
- I think Gravity should order from the smallest to largest, why is Pluto behind Jupiter? If the gravity is strong enough to hold the Jupiter, why is it not strong enough to de-orbit the Mercury?
- If it is uniform speed, where did moon get its 'extra' motion since it should move in whichever direction the earth moves due to 'gravity'? This actually supports geocentric model, since the moon needs no energy of its own, it just falls around the earth.
-I don't think formulas are needed here. Have you ever gotten down in a moving car before? Friction doesn't depend on the size of the object or the force it exacts. All that is needed is for the tyre to touch the ground and a mighty crash occurs.
- Have you forgotten that moon is 1/4 the size of earth? And is motion is independent to earth? How the hell won't it block the rays from sun everyday?
-Yes, I do see it everyday, but for thick cloud cover, which determines how bright and visible moon will be.

~We have time zones because of the movement of moon and sun.
~ The obliquity of the ecliptic and the solar eccentric (a
slight shift from the center of the Earth of the center of the
Sun's path around the Earth).
Imagine the "fixed stars" as being points of light fixed to a
bowl that rotates around the Earth on a daily basis. That's
how the ancients thought of the stars. Plot the position of
the Sun at noon every day with respect to this bowl of
stars you'll see a pattern arise: The Sun moves with
respect to the fixed stars. This is the ecliptic. The planets
also appear to more or less follow the ecliptic. The
ancients knew this very well. It was a part of many of their
religions.
The way this was explained from an ancient geocentric
point of view is that the rings on which the Sun and
planets rotated moved north and south, making the Sun
and planets appear to move along the ecliptic. This nicely
explains the longer days in summer, short days in winter.
What it doesn't explain is why spring and summer are
longer than are fall and winter in the northern hemisphere.
This too was well known to the ancients. Explaining this
phenomenon is where the solar eccentric comes into play.
The the Sun and planets moved in circles called deferents.
(The planets needed epicycles, too.) The center of a
deferent, the eccentric, is slightly offset from the center of
the Earth in Ptolemy's model. The Sun appears to move
uniformly from the perspective of the deferent, which
means it doesn't appear to move uniformly from the
perspective of the Earth. Ptolemy explicitly took the non-
uniform lengths of the seasons into account when he
established the Sun's deferent and eccentric.
~Cloud cover
~Due to different orbits of sun an moon, they tend to meet at some time, which causes eclipse, howbeit for a short time. We have cloud movement, just like we have movement of water vapor from a pot.
~Ocean tides are caused by the gravitational attraction of moon and sun.
~ The same gravity that holds sun in place in heliocentric model.
"When sitting in a rapidly-moving railway carriage, let a
spring-gun be fired forward, or in the direction in which the
train is moving. Again, let the same gun be fired, but in the
opposite direction; and it will be found that the ball or
other projectile will always go farther in the first case than
in the latter. If a person leaps backwards from a horse in
full gallop, he cannot jump so great a distance as he can by
jumping forward. Leaping from a moving sledge, coach, or
other object, backwards or forwards, the same results are
experienced. Many other practical cases could be cited to
show that any body projected from another body in motion,
does not exhibit the same behaviour as it does when
projected from a body at rest. Nor are the results the
same when projected in the same direction as that in
which the body moves, as when projected in the opposite
direction; because, in the former case, the projected body
receives its momentum from the projectile force, plus that
given to it by the moving body; and in the latter case, this
momentum, minus that of the moving body. Hence it
would be found that if the earth is moving rapidly from
west to east, a cannon fired in a due easterly direction
would send a ball to a greater distance than it would if
fired in a due westerly direction. But the most experienced
artillerymen - many of whom have had great practice, both
at home and abroad, in almost every latitude - have
declared that no difference whatever is observable. That in
charging and pointing their guns, no difference in the
working is ever required. Gunners in war ships have
noticed a considerable difference in the results of their
firing from guns at the bow, when sailing rapidly towards
the object fired at, and when firing from guns placed at the
stern while sailing away from the object: and in both cases
the results are different to those observed when firing from
a ship at perfect rest. These details of practical experience
are utterly incompatible with the supposition of a revolving
earth." -Samuel Rowbotham, "Zetetic Astronomy"
