Hello all poultry farmers. Hope business has been great. Pls, i need advice and i will really appreciate contributions no matter how little.
I am expecting a sum of #100,000 n i hope to go into a backyard poultry farming with dis. There is enough space in my father's compound for this. I have few questions though. I intend going for layers since i can make income from sales of their eggs. I hope on buying point of lay birds instead of brooding them from pullets. I am new to this business buh i av lil experience, though very little. I used to av a snall poultry of 8 birds back in secondary school though thosw were Cockerell n it was just for fun. My questions are below.
1. how many point of lay layers can i get with the said amount plus housing plus feeding for 2 months wen i might av enuf eggs to sell n get return to get more feed.
2. which type of layer is the best for egg production, i heard its on Rhode Island red. Which is a good egg producer btw Rhode Island red, leghorn, and black star.
3. In respect to d said amount, which kind of housing will fit in respect to tge construction, d num of birds n feeding for two months all within the said budget.
4. Since am buying point of lau birds, will there be any other vaccines i will be given them since i expect that they may av completed their vaccines already getting to a point of lay.
5. How many eggs do a bird lay on daily basis.
6. How much heat will they be needing since they are already adult.

I hope to ask few more questions later if i come up with anything that will help further my cause. I will really appreciate answers to these questions. Thanks in advance.
